Honoring the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to Major General Hoang The Thien
HCMC - On April 11, the solemn ceremony to award the title of "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" to Major General Hoang The Thien took place solemnly.
On April 11, the ceremony to posthumously award the title of "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" to Major General Hoang The Thien (1922-1995) was solemnly held at the Southeast Armed Forces Museum (HCMC).
The event was co-organized by the Traditional Veterans Association of the 4th Army Corps in coordination with the Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Road Association of Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Veterans Association for the Cambodian Revolution and the Management Board of the Memorial House of Major General Hoang The Thien.
In order to recognize the outstanding achievements in the resistance war against American imperialism and saving the country, on January 23, 2025, the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam signed Decision No. 129/QD-CTN to posthumously award the title of "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" to Major General Hoang The Thien.
At the ceremony, authorized by the President, Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army - presented the title of "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" to the relatives of Major General Hoang The Thien.
Mr. Hoang Anh Thi, son of the Major General and Standing Member of the Management Board of the Memorial House, expressed the family's honor and pride in this noble title. This is also the common pride of the generation of our ancestors who sacrificed for independence, unity and national construction.
Major General Hoang The Thien - former Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, 4th tenure; Head of the Party Central Committee B.68; Deputy Minister of National Defense; First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of War Invalids and Social Affairs; Member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; First Political Commissar of the Air Force Department; Political Commissar of the Truong Son Command, First Political Commissar of the 4th Corps.
Major General Hoang The Thien is a prestigious general of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, a steadfast and excellent political and military officer of the Party, who has made many contributions to the cause of national liberation and national reunification, building and defending the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam, and fulfilling a noble international duty; is a shining example of the talent and personality of revolutionary soldiers, fighting and sacrificing for the ideal of national independence and the happiness of the people.
This is an opportunity for all comrades, teammates, families and the younger generation to remember, express gratitude and honor the contributions of Major General Hoang The Thien to the Fatherland and the people.
