General Secretary To Lam presents the Ho Chi Minh Medal to Military Region 4

On the morning of October 12, in Nghe An, the Party Committee and Command of Military Region 4 (Ministry of National Defense) solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Armed Forces of Military Region 4 (October 15, 1945 - October 15, 2025) and received the Ho Chi Minh Medal.

Attending the ceremony were General Secretary To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission; Politburo members, Secretaries of the Party Central Committee: Phan Dinh Trac - Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, Nguyen Trong Nghia - Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Nguyen Duy Ngoc - Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission.

Party Central Committee members: Vo Thi Anh Xuan - Vice President, Ho Duc Phoc - Deputy Prime Minister, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Pham Gia Tuc - Chief of the Party Central Committee Office, General Nguyen Tan Cuong - Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Party Central Committee members, representatives of a number of central ministries, departments, branches, leaders of Nghe An province and a number of provinces and cities, leaders of Military Region 4.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Ha Tho Binh - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Commander of Military Region 4 - affirmed: exactly 80 years ago, on October 15, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh signed the Decree to establish Military Region 4 - the predecessor of the 4th Military Region Armed Forces. Since then, October 15 every year has become the glorious traditional day of the force.

Through many historical periods, the Armed Forces of Military Region 4 have achieved many glorious feats, successfully completing combat tasks, work and production labor, contributing to maintaining the national defense and people's security. The image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" of Military Region 4 in natural disaster prevention and control, saving people during storms and floods has become a symbol of the people's trust in the Central provinces.

With its outstanding achievements, the Armed Forces of Military Region 4 are honored to be awarded many noble awards, including 2 Gold Star Orders, 2 Ho Chi Minh Orders, the First Class Independence Order and many other Orders and Orders.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam praised the great feats and achievements that generations of officers and soldiers of Military Region 4 have achieved over the past 80 years; at the same time, he affirmed that that tradition of steadfastness and indomitableness needs to continue to be strongly promoted in the new period.

General Secretary To Lam requested the Armed Forces of Military Region 4 to continue to thoroughly grasp Ho Chi Minh's military ideology, improve the quality of combat readiness, build a national defense posture associated with a solid people's security posture; proactively prevent and defeat all sabotage plots of hostile forces.

The General Secretary emphasized the key task of building the Armed Forces of the 4th Military Region to be revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern, taking a strong political stance as the basis to improve the quality of the overall and combat strength. Along with that, focus on training and coaching officers and soldiers to master new and modern weapons and equipment; promote innovation and digital transformation in training and management.

In any circumstances, the Armed Forces of Military Region 4 are always a reliable political force, a loyal fighting force of the Party, State and people - General Secretary To Lam affirmed.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam presented the Ho Chi Minh Medal to the Armed Forces of Military Region 4 - a noble award recognizing the merits, contributions and glorious traditions of the force in 80 years of building, fighting and growing.

On this occasion, the General Secretary also presented the Military Region 4 with the work "Uncle Ho returns to visit his hometown in 1961".
