General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping is about to visit Vietnam

At the invitation of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Luong Cuong, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping will pay a state visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from April 14 to 15, 2025.

The visit took place in the context of this year Vietnam and China celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (18.1.1950 - 18.1.2025).

Previously, on January 15, 2025, General Secretary To Lam held a phone call with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, jointly declaring the launch of the Vietnam - China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025; agreed to coordinate in organizing well the activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the Vietnam - China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025; promote propaganda and education among all classes of people, especially the younger generations of the two countries, about the good traditional friendship between Vietnam and China.

The two General Secretaries of the two Parties agreed to continue to increase strategic exchanges between the two Parties and the two countries, especially high-level exchanges of strategic significance for the overall bilateral relationship; improve the effectiveness of cooperation mechanisms on the channels of the Party, Government, National Assembly/Nha Duong, Fatherland Front/Hiep; promote defense and security cooperation commensurate with its role as one of the important pillars of the bilateral relationship; create new breakthroughs in economic cooperation, prioritize accelerating the connection of 3 standard gauge railway lines between the two countries, expand trade and investment cooperation in emerging fields.

At the phone call, General Secretary To Lam respectfully invited comrade Xi Jinping and his wife to soon visit Vietnam in 2025. General Secretary and President Xi Jinping thanked and happily accepted the invitation.
