Receiving 16 Vietnamese citizens returned from Laos
Quang Binh - 16 Vietnamese citizens returned from Laos were received by Cha Lo International Border Guard Station.
On April 13, information from the Quang Binh Provincial Border Guard said that they had just received 16 Vietnamese citizens returned by Laos.
Previously, at mark 528 (Dan Hoa commune, Minh Hoa district), Cha Lo International Border Guard Station in coordination with the authorities received 16 Vietnamese citizens returned by Na Phau Border Guard Station, Kham Muon province (Laos).
According to information from the Cha Lo International Border Guard Station, these citizens had previously left the country by air from the beginning of 2023 to the end of 2024, to Thailand and Myanmar to find jobs.
However, due to unsatisfactory working conditions, low salaries, expired staying terms and fear of administrative sanctions, this group of people tried to return to Vietnam via unofficial routes and were arrested by Lao authorities.
After completing the necessary procedures, the friendly side organized the handover to the Vietnamese authorities at Cha Lo border gate area. The receipt process was carried out according to the correct procedures, ensuring safety. All 16 citizens were given health check-ups and their health was stable.
Following the direction of the Border Guard Command, the People's Committee of Quang Binh province and the Provincial Border Guard Command, the unit conducted a personal verification, initially determining that these citizens had no criminal records, criminal records and did not violate Vietnamese law.
After completing the verification steps, the Border Guard Station handed over 16 people to their place of residence and coordinated with local authorities and police to continue monitoring and managing according to regulations.
