Prime Minister: International integration must shift from asking-receiving to proactive contribution

The Prime Minister stated that last year, the trend of global economy, investment and trade decreased. However, for Vietnam, import and export turnover increased, FDI disbursement reached the largest record ever, reaching about 28-29 billion USD, demonstrating the increased confidence of foreign investors in Vietnam's business investment environment; at the same time, stimulating domestic investment. The international community highly appreciates Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements.
The conference to evaluate the Party's correct and timely direction has helped shape a new thinking about international integration to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation.
International integration in the economy has quickly shifted to adapt to fluctuations, taking advantage of attracting important and outstanding resources, contributing to restructuring and innovating the model of sustainable and self-reliant growth.
International integration in politics, defense and security has many new steps forward, being a pillar in protecting the Fatherland early and from afar, consolidating and expanding the favorable foreign situation, enhancing the country's potential and international position.
International integration in science and technology, innovation and digital transformation is strongly promoted, becoming a focus in cooperation with partners, practically serving the goal of shifting the growth model from breadth to depth.
International integration in culture, society, tourism, environment, education - training, health and other fields has had many positive changes, both increasing the country's position and soft power, and effectively serving the goal of sustainable and inclusive development, with people as the center.
Along with that, the improvement of institutions and legal policies on international integration has been promoted and the urging and supervision of the implementation of international commitments and agreements has contributed to improving the country's national competitiveness and international integration capacity.
