Tan Son Nhat Airport is airy, flights are not significantly delayed

According to Lao Dong, on April 24, both the departure and arrival terminals (domestic) - Tan Son Nhat airport - were clear. The check-in area of airlines did not record any crowded or overloaded conditions. In particular, after 2 days of April 20 and 21, when many passengers reported the situation of flight delays and lost luggage in Tan Son Nhat continuously, today (May 24), the situation of delayed flights has decreased significantly.

Mr. Bach Tuan Long (residing in Go Vap District) who regularly chooses Vietjet Air said that today his flight took place on time, without delay.

"My flight schedule from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi is 11:30 and is still on schedule. I seem to be luckier than many others because most Vietjet Air flights are not delayed, or if so, they are only delayed by about 30 minutes," said Mr. Long.

Also choosing low-cost airline Vietjet Air to return home this morning, Mr. Nguyen Minh Phuc (residing in Tan Binh District) said that due to being late at the airport, he missed the flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Thanh Hoa. Therefore, he had to buy a new ticket for the flight at 2:10 p.m.

"This morning I have returned to my hotel room so now I have to wait at the airport to fly in the afternoon. According to the original schedule of 2:10 p.m., I had just received a notice that the flight had been delayed until 3:30 p.m.," said Mr. Phuc.

On flight information boards, there are about 3-4 Vietjet Air flights with flight times changed from 20 minutes to nearly 1 hour.

The check-in area of Vietnam Airlines also recorded a similar situation when the number of check-in passengers was not too crowded, and there were very few flights that had to announce flight relocation on the flight information board.

Previously, on April 20 and 21, a number of flights to and from Vietjet Air at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (HCMC) were forced to adjust their flight schedules.

The reason is that from 0:00 on April 20, Saigon Land Service Joint Stock Company (SAGS) has officially handed over all ground services to Vietjet Air to receive. However, this time coincides with the peak period preparing for the April 30 - May 1 holiday, when flight frequency increases, leading to congestion in the parking lot area. At the same time, the airline is also rushing to complete preparations to move operations to domestic terminal T3.

In addition, adjusting the operating plan before the peak of the holiday season, the sudden increase in the number of passengers and many activities taking place at Tan Son Nhat International Airport are also factors that force airlines to flexibly change flight schedules.

In the face of the above situation, Vietjet Air has proactively requested and received timely coordination from the Southern Airports Authority, Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Border Police, Tan Son Nhat Customs, and related units such as SAGS, SASCO, SCSC, ...

The airline has also reported to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and received timely support from authorities.
