Quang Binh plans to reduce the number of commune-level administrative units by 50%
Quang Binh - The province has implemented a plan to rearrange 50% of commune-level administrative units, with the goal of reducing the number and increasing operational efficiency.
On the morning of April 9, at the 3rd meeting of the Steering Committee for the arrangement and reorganization of district and commune-level administrative units in Quang Binh province, key tasks in the arrangement work were discussed and specific implementation plans were proposed.
The meeting was chaired by Provincial Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang, with the participation of provincial leaders, members of the Steering Committee and representatives of relevant departments and branches.
Provincial Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang emphasized that this administrative unit arrangement is an important opportunity to build a streamlined, efficient local government system and better serve the people. He requested relevant agencies to focus their intelligence, ensuring that the work is carried out urgently, scientifically and achieves high results.
According to the report of the Department of Home Affairs, the arrangement of commune-level administrative units will reduce the current number of administrative units by about 50%.
At the same time, do not reorganize administrative units with separate locations or important locations related to national defense - security, national sovereignty protection; in case of reorganizing wards with commune administrative units, the administrative unit after the reorganization will be a ward; in case of reorganizing communes and towns, the administrative unit after the reorganization will be a commune.
In addition, the naming of administrative units after the arrangement must ensure ease of identification, science and suitability with the historical and cultural characteristics of each locality.
The implementation will be linked to factors related to transport infrastructure, ensuring the headquarters of administrative units after the arrangement have convenient locations and ensure safety for people. In particular, tasks such as arranging staff and preparing working equipment will also be focused on so as not to interrupt administrative activities.
Provincial Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang also requested relevant units to quickly deploy specific plans, report to the Central and the Government before important timelines.
