Quang Binh plans to have 41 more communes and wards after administrative reorganization
Quang Binh - After completing the project to reorganize administrative units (ADUs) at the commune level, the province is expected to reduce to 41 communes and wards, including 36 communes and 5 wards.
The information was given at the Provincial Party Executive Committee Conference on the afternoon of April 14, chaired by Provincial Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang. The conference focused on giving opinions on the plan to reorganize the administrative units at the commune level in the spirit of streamlining the apparatus, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of grassroots government operations.
Reporting at the conference, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee Tran Vu Khiem said that the arrangement was carried out according to scientific principles, in accordance with local realities, while ensuring national defense, security, culture - society and legitimate rights of the people. The naming of new units is encouraged according to consecutive numbers or associated with old names to facilitate data digitization and management.
After the arrangement, the headquarters of the new administrative units will be selected based on the criteria of synchronous infrastructure, favorable location, ensuring stable operation immediately when the new unit is established.
After completing the project to reorganize commune-level administrative units, the province plans to reduce it to 41 communes and wards, including 36 communes and 5 wards.
Currently, Quang Binh has 145 commune-level administrative units (122 communes, 15 wards and 8 towns).
Concluding the conference, Provincial Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang requested relevant agencies to urgently complete projects at the commune and provincial levels; organize the collection of public opinions; submit to the People's Councils at all levels for approval according to the roadmap, ensuring that the provincial level completes before April 25 and submits to the Government before May 1.
Along with that, the province also directed the development of plans to arrange cadres, civil servants, facilities, and public assets so that the new administrative apparatus can operate smoothly as soon as the resolution takes effect.
The Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee emphasized that the arrangement of administrative units is not just a simple adjustment of boundaries, but an important step in reorganizing the local government model in the direction of streamlining, modernity, better serving the people and creating new development momentum for the province.
