Deputy Prime Minister directs inspection and review of Long Thanh airport construction progress

The Government Office has just issued Document No. 912/VPCP-CN conveying the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on accelerating the progress of the Long Thanh International Airport (Long Thanh airport) project.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministries of: Construction, Finance, Agriculture and Environment, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies to urgently implement tasks as proposed by the Ministry of Construction and directed by the Prime Minister based on their assigned functions and tasks.

The Ministry of Construction continues to regularly inspect and direct investors and relevant management agencies in project implementation to ensure the completion progress according to the plan; promptly report to the Prime Minister the implementation results, difficulties, obstacles and solutions to remove them.

Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee urgently complete the appraisal of the basic design of the fuel pipeline, works under component project 4 to soon deploy construction to ensure completion and synchronous operation in June 2026; in case of arising difficulties and obstacles, promptly report to the Ministry of Construction for support, guidance, and resolution.

Airports Corporation of Vietnam must regularly organize inspections and reviews of construction progress, adjust and update progress weekly for each item and package belonging to component project 3; promptly organize the handling of difficulties and obstacles affecting construction progress.

Direct contractors to increase manpower and equipment, proactively gather materials, materials, financial resources..., organize 3 shifts, 4 teams, construct on holidays and weekends to complete according to the committed schedule, especially packages with large remaining volumes, with the risk of delays such as package No. 4.8 (Inland port traffic and technical infrastructure) and 5.10 (Passenger terminal).

Promptly organize the preparation of the feasibility study report phase 2 and procedures for adjusting the function of 4 warehouses to implement the next steps to ensure progress as required.

Vietnam Airlines Corporation directs the investor of aviation catering service projects, ground commercial techniques, hangar No. 1 (aircraft hangar) to accelerate the implementation progress to ensure completion and synchronous operation in June 2026.

Promptly organize research and deploy investment in the construction of hangar No. 2, cargo station No. 2, three express delivery goods and 4 warehouses (from No. 5 to No. 8) to meet the progress according to the contract.

Ministries, branches, localities and agencies and units mobilize forces to implement specific tasks to accelerate the implementation progress and organize effective exploitation of the project. Research and build Long Thanh airport into a regional air transshipment hub, along with a modern and synchronous aviation and non-aviation service ecosystem, towards forming "Long Thanh Airport City".

According to Vietnam Airports Corporation, currently, contractor consortiums are mobilizing nearly 15,000 experts, engineers, and workers and more than 3,000 equipment and machinery, deploying hundreds of construction teams at the construction site.

The Long Thanh Airport Police Station construction project has a total investment of more than 43 billion VND, started on December 25, 2024 with a construction time of 360 days. Up to now, the construction and equipment procurement package has been completed.
