Reviving from natural mud
The historic flood at the end of October 2025 left an unhealthy scar for the people of Ha Nha commune (Da Nang city). When the flood receded, seeing the piles of crushed bricks and mud inundated, I thought that this Binh Ngo Tet, my mother and I would have to live temporarily.
Without speedy decisions, hundreds of people will not have a real home to celebrate Tet. In that context, the campaign "Quang Trung Quoc Thoi" was launched, carrying hope to revive from the rubble.
According to the direction of the Prime Minister, the deadline for completing the construction and repair of houses for people to celebrate Tet is January 15, 2026. However, in Da Nang, with the spirit of "overcoming the sun and overcoming the rain", the military and police forces of the city completed the campaign 5 days earlier than expected.
Da Nang City Police have proactively taken on and completed the repair and construction of 271/505 new houses, accounting for 53.6% of the total workload of the city.
Participating in this campaign, police officers are not only security guards, but they have turned into professional bricklayers. Sergeant Vo Van Loc - an officer of Detention Center No. 1, his hands grinding on the rough bottles from carrying bricks - laughed brightly: "We determined to do all the work, not all the time. Seeing the people's houses rising every day, all the fatigue disappears".
Not only contributing, the police force also mobilized funds to support the people of the Central - Central Highlands with an amount of more than 120 billion VND. Therefore, in Ha Nha, in addition to giving away new house keys, soldiers also support people from the smallest items such as bowls and chopsticks, blankets to electronic devices such as TVs so that people can soon stabilize their lives.
A fulcrum after the fierce flood
Currently, the grassroots police force is urgently supporting people to re-perform administrative procedures and reissue identification documents lost due to natural disasters. This is extremely important for workers to return to the labor market soon and their children to stabilize their education soon.
At the same time, social security groups continue to review the demand for plant varieties, livestock and labor tools. The goal is not only to "have a roof to live in" but also to " have a livelihood to live in".
The resounding success of the Quang Trung campaign in Da Nang is a vivid testament to the spirit of innovation, discipline and efficiency right after the 14th Party Congress. It shows an action-oriented, sympathetic and responsible administrative apparatus.
Mr. Mai Thanh Sang - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Nha commune - shared: "Without the rapid cooperation of the Police and the Army, the local government could not have completed this huge amount of work in such a short time. This is not just about building a house, but building the people's trust".
Along with the Police, the Da Nang City Military Command (CHQS) also completed its mission excellently. The unit has repaired and rebuilt nearly 290 houses in the city and Dak Lak province. More than 500 officers, soldiers and militia and self-defense forces have been working tirelessly despite the cut-off terrain. The city's Military Command also allocated nearly 600 million VND in support funds and donated hundreds of essential items such as beds, fans, and rice cookers to poor households.
Quang Trung's campaign has reached the finish line. Natural disasters have retreated before the power of solidarity. This Spring Binh Ngo, Da Nang welcomes Tet more brilliantly than ever, because in the color of spring flowers, there is also the bright red color of the love bricks and the green color of the hearts serving the people.
