Nghe An issues emergency order to upgrade the western health station after natural disasters
Nghe An - After many natural disasters causing heavy damage, the Provincial People's Committee issued an emergency order to upgrade the medical stations in the western mountainous region.
On January 11, information from Nghe An Provincial People's Committee said that the locality has just issued an emergency construction order in 2026 for the construction, renovation, repair and upgrading of the health station system in the communes of the Western Nghe An.
The decision was made in the context that from around July to October 2025, the mountainous areas west of Nghe An will be continuously affected by floods and landslides, causing heavy damage to the grassroots health system.
Many health stations were deeply flooded, roofs were blown off, walls were cracked, equipment was damaged, and some places were completely cut off, causing medical examination and treatment activities to be interrupted, making it difficult for people to access medical services.

During peak natural disasters, the local health sector had to deploy mobile medical teams, using canoes and motorboats to reach isolated areas, provide emergency care to patients, support maternal and female births and provide emergency medical care to people.
According to the emergency construction order, the invested items include office buildings, medical examination and treatment areas, garages, garbage storage facilities; technical infrastructure systems such as yards, gates, fences, water supply, electricity supply, fire prevention and fighting, information technology, waste collection areas; at the same time, renovate and repair existing items and add interior equipment.
The projects are being implemented in Chau Khe, Tam Quang, Keng Du, Na Ngoi, Na Loi, Thong Thu, Tri Le communes.
The total estimated investment is 70 billion VND. The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Police to be the investor, organize the preparation of documents, implement procedures according to regulations, ensure the progress and quality of the project; at the same time, review and assess the level of damage caused by natural disasters to have appropriate remedial solutions.
The Provincial People's Committee also requested relevant departments and branches to coordinate in guiding the implementation of project procedures; localities to urgently hand over the site and coordinate implementation, in order to soon put medical stations into operation, ensuring long-term health care for people in mountainous, remote and isolated areas.
