Kon Tum - Favorable infrastructure will strengthen connectivity and cooperation in the Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia triangle, opening up many opportunities for sustainable development.

On May 28, the People's Committee of Kon Tum province said that with the goal of becoming a strategic unit on the Indochina economic corridor, the province is actively promoting infrastructure connectivity, regional cooperation and enhancing competitiveness.

One of the top priorities is to invest in developing socio-economic infrastructure in the border area, facilitating the movement of goods, services and tourism between Kon Tum - South Laos - Northeast Thailand.

The province also proposed mechanisms to support businesses to access the market, expand production and participate more deeply in the regional value chain.

In the tourism sector, Kon Tum focuses on exploiting the advantage of being the gateway to Indochina, promoting international tours and routes through the Bo Y - Phu Cua border gate, aiming to build a model of "Three countries - One destination".

The province promotes the development of Caravan tourism and community eco-tourism. Kon Tum continues to be assessed as a safe, attractive and effective destination for investors.

Of which, the Kon Tum - Quang Ngai expressway project is being accelerated with a total preliminary investment of more than VND 44,355 billion, expected to start construction at the end of 2026.

The route not only connects the Central - Central Highlands region, but also promotes the development of Mang Den region into a national eco-tourism center and expands the export of agricultural and forestry products through Dung Quat port.

When completed, the expressway will contribute to strengthening the connection of the Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia development triangle, opening up many sustainable development opportunities for the entire region.
