The North is about to have very heavy rain, some places over 90mm
According to the meteorological agency, tomorrow, April 12, the Northwest region, Thanh Hoa to Quang Binh are forecast to have some places with very heavy rain exceeding the 90mm mark.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the dry weather is about to end in the North and Central regions because currently, a cold air mass from the north is moving south.
In the next 24 to 48 hours, cold air will begin to cause widespread rain.
The Northwest region and the area from Thanh Hoa to Quang Binh during the day and night of April 12 are forecast to have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain. The common rainfall is about 30 - 60mm, locally over 90mm.
The meteorological agency warns of the risk of local heavy rain with rainfall greater than 80mm within 6 hours.
In the evening and night of April 12, the area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai is forecast to have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places having heavy rain. The common rainfall is 15 - 30mm, locally over 60mm.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warns that thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. The risk level of natural disasters due to heavy rain is level 1.
Risk of flooding in low-lying areas, flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and mountainous areas. People in the above areas need to monitor warnings of flash floods and landslides in real time.
From April 13, heavy rain in the North and Central regions will gradually decrease.
