Basic salary, regional minimum wage are adjusted promptly

At the 2025 Conference of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Ministry of Home Affairs held on the afternoon of January 12, Acting Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Home Affairs Bui Huy Tung said that the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued action programs and plans to implement the resolutions and conclusions of the Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, the National Assembly, the National Assembly Standing Committee, and the Government's Resolutions.

Based on the direction of the Ministry's leaders, the units have promptly and promptly organized the dissemination and promulgation of work plans and programs for implementation.

In particular, key and important tasks on institutional building and improvement, summarizing the implementation of Resolutions No. 18-NQ/TW, 19-NQ/TW of the 12th Central Executive Committee; streamlining the apparatus of the political system, operating effectively and efficiently; arranging administrative units, organizing local governments at 2 levels.

Implementing the policy of streamlining the Central organization and apparatus, according to the Act of the Chief of the Ministry's Office, the Ministry of Home Affairs has proactively advised on the summary of the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW. Accordingly, after implementing the arrangement of the apparatus of the 15th Government, it will be streamlined, including: 14 ministries, 3 ministerial-level agencies, 5 agencies under the Government.

Regarding the arrangement and consolidation of specialized agencies under People's Committees at all levels, the whole country has established 467 specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committees and 9,916 specialized departments at the commune level established in communes, wards and special zones.

To date, the whole country has 34 provinces and cities and 3,321 communes, wards and special zones. From July 1, 2025, local authorities at both levels will officially operate. After 5 months of implementation, the government system at all levels has operated basically stably, in a disciplined manner, actively and increasingly effectively.

The outstanding results in the past year of the Ministry of Home Affairs must be mentioned as the attention and direction for synchronous, timely and effective implementation; the social security system is increasingly improving and continues to be a solid pillar for political stability, social order and safety, and sustainable development of the country.

In particular, Mr. Bui Huy Tung emphasized that the work of salaries and social insurance closely follows the socio-economic development situation, the ability to balance the budget and the price level to promptly research and adjust the basic salary and regional minimum wage. From there, aim to ensure the lives of salary earners, create motivation to work, stabilize society and the labor market.
