Accordingly, the Politburo issued Conclusion 83, the National Assembly issued Resolution 142 and the Government issued Decree 73 to adjust the basic salary from 1.8 million VND to 2.34 million VND/month from July 1, 2024.

The above adjustment of the basic salary is a great effort of the Central Government, the National Assembly, and the Government to contribute to improving the lives of salary earners, creating motivation and improving social stable labor productivity.

In Conclusion 83, the Politburo assigned the Central Economic Committee (now the Central Policy and Strategy Committee) to preside over the preliminary review of Resolution 27.

Based on the goals and tasks approved by the 14th National Congress, socio-economic and financial development plans for the next 5 years, socio-economic conditions and the capacity of the state budget, the Ministry of Home Affairs will report to competent authorities to consider and propose a salary regime in accordance with the roadmap in Conclusion 83 of the Politburo on salary reform.

The Ministry of Home Affairs is finalizing a draft decree amending the salary regime for cadres, civil servants, public employees, and armed forces, including a proposal to amend the leadership position allowance table for a number of positions.

At the same time, coordinate with the Ministry of Finance and relevant ministries and agencies to continue reporting to competent authorities for consideration and decision to increase the basic salary in 2026.
