Lao Cai and Yen Bai discuss merger plans
On the afternoon of April 9, the Standing Committees of Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces held a conference to discuss the arrangement and merger plan.
The working delegation of the Standing Committee of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee was led by Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee.
Receiving the working delegation were Mr. Tran Huy Tuan - Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and leaders of the People's Council and People's Committee of Yen Bai province, relevant departments and branches.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Huy Tuan, Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee, emphasized: Based on the agreed cooperation contents between the Standing Committees of the two provinces, the departments, branches and localities of the two localities have focused on implementing them seriously and effectively; coordinating and exchanging experiences in various fields.
Based on the Politburo's policy on the Project to reorganize and build a model of organizing local government at 2 levels, Yen Bai and Lao Cai provinces will merge into one.
The arrangement and consolidation of a number of provincial-level administrative units is an important policy of the Party Central Committee in the context of the country entering a new era of national development.
The Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee hopes that the two localities will discuss, discuss and propose a number of key tasks in the coming time for the competent authorities to effectively implement, ensuring progress and quality.

Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee affirmed: Lao Cai and Yen Bai have a long history of common solidarity and favorable natural conditions, rich in mineral resources. In particular, both localities are located on the Red River dynamic axis. These are important premises, therefore, when merging the two provinces, they must become a "three-horse car", developing more strongly.
The Lao Cai Provincial Party Secretary said that the planning of the new provincial center needs to be carefully studied and calculated to promote efficiency; the Standing Committees and the Standing Committees of the two provincial Party Committees continue to uphold and promote the leadership and direction role before, during and after the merger of the two provinces.
The conference also agreed to establish a Steering Committee and a Working Group to assist the Steering Committee for the implementation of the merger of the two provinces to comprehensively lead and direct the development and implementation of the Project.
After being established, the Steering Committee will urgently develop and issue an action plan in the direction of clearly defining the roadmap and content of work to be carried out at each time, time limit, and completion progress to ensure timeliness, synchronization, unity, quality and efficiency.
