Lao Cai has a new Provincial Party Secretary
Deputy Inspector General of the Government Duong Quoc Huy was transferred, assigned, and appointed by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee.
On the morning of February 28, Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce the Politburo's decision on personnel work.
Accordingly, the Politburo decided to transfer, assign, and appoint Mr. Duong Quoc Huy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Inspector General of the Government - to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and hold the position of Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee for the term 2025-2030.
Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Committee Le Minh Hung presented the Politburo's decision to Mr. Duong Quoc Huy.
Before Mr. Duong Quoc Huy was transferred, assigned, and appointed as Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee, the person holding this position was Mr. Trinh Viet Hung, from September 29, 2025.
Mr. Duong Quoc Huy, born in 1974, hometown: Me So commune, Hung Yen province; Bachelor of Law, Bachelor of Economics, Master of Law, senior in political theory.
He used to hold the positions of Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Tra Magazine, Chief of the Government Inspectorate Office; Deputy Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate.
He was awarded the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit in 2021, and the Third-class Independence Medal in 2025.
On January 22, 2026, at the 14th National Congress, Mr. Duong Quoc Huy was elected as a member of the Party Central Committee.
