Lao Cai opens the Binh Ngo Spring Sports Festival

The Organizing Committee of major holidays of Lao Cai province has just opened the Sports Festival "Celebrating the Party, celebrating Binh Ngo Spring" 2026, attracting 250 athletes to participate.

The competition gathered 28 delegations with 250 athletes who are officials, civil servants, public employees, and laborers from agencies, departments, branches, and unions in the province. Athletes competed in 3 sports including volleyball, pickleball, and Chinese chess.

In which, volleyball and Chinese chess compete at the Provincial Labor Federation Sports Center; pickleball takes place at pickleball court 242, Ly Thuong Kiet street.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, representatives of the Organizing Committee emphasized that the contest is a practical activity to celebrate major holidays of the country and the province, towards the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Physical Education and Sports (March 27, 1946 – March 27, 2026).

Through the contest, the movement to practice physical exercise and sports among cadres, civil servants, public employees, and laborers continues to spread, contributing to the effective implementation of the Campaign "All people practice physical exercise following the example of the great Uncle Ho", building a healthy cultural life, improving health to serve work and production.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the athletes entered the competition in a lively and exciting atmosphere, attracting a large number of people to watch and cheer. The competition takes place for 3 days, and is expected to close in the afternoon of March 1.
