Directions for naming new commune-level administrative units in Quang Binh
Quang Binh - The province will rearrange commune-level administrative units, reduce 50% and find a way to name new communes, in line with traditional values.
On April 10, speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper, Chairman of Dong Hoi City People's Committee (Quang Binh province) Hoang Ngoc Dan said that in the direction of implementing the merger of communes, accordingly, the number of commune-level administrative units will be reduced by about 50%. In particular, for the merged communes, the names will be kept the same or a new name will be chosen in accordance with the historical and cultural characteristics of each locality.
The Chairman of Dong Hoi City People's Committee said that the naming of new administrative units will focus on ease of identification, science and historical and cultural tradition.
The government will encourage the naming of administrative units according to the order number or based on the old name of the district before the merger. This not only makes it easier to manage and digitize data but also preserves the heritage values of localities.
For commune-level administrative units after the merger, the selection of locations will also ensure convenience in terms of traffic, infrastructure, development space and ensure national security and defense.
Provincial Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang emphasized that this is an important task, having a profound impact on the entire local government apparatus and people's lives.
He said that the rearrangement of administrative units will not only reduce overlap and streamline the apparatus but also be an opportunity to improve the quality of management and improve public services for the people.
Mr. Le Ngoc Quang also noted that the implementation of administrative unit reorganization must ensure consistency and suitability with the geographical, cultural and historical factors of each area.
He requested that relevant agencies need to work urgently and have close coordination between departments, branches and localities during the implementation process, while paying special attention to the arrangement of staff, adjusting facilities, ensuring that administrative units after the merger have sufficient capacity and stable operating conditions.
In addition, Provincial Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang also emphasized the need for an effective propaganda and mobilization plan so that people understand and agree with this policy.
Policies on protecting people's rights and regulations related to conversion will be clarified during the implementation process, ensuring transparency and fairness.
