Hung Yen plans to build nearly 6,000 social housing units

On January 7, Mr. Pham Quang Ngoc - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting of the Provincial People's Committee to listen to the Department of Finance report on the draft Socio-Economic Development Management Plan for 2026.

According to the draft plan, Hung Yen province sets a growth target for gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in 2026 of 10 to 10.5%, striving to actively contribute to the country's GDP growth target in 2026 of 10% or more. In particular, the industrial - construction sector continues to play a key driving role, with the industrial growth rate reaching 13 - 13.5%, construction reaching 16 - 17%; services increased by 8.5 - 9%; agriculture, forestry and fishery increased by 2 - 2.5%.

The Provincial People's Committee has determined that the total total social investment capital in 2026 will reach about 175,000 billion VND; the state budget revenue in the area strives to reach 84,250 billion VND. Along with that, the province focuses on promoting the disbursement of public investment capital, considering this an important resource to lead, spread and attract private investment.

In the social field, the province aims to build at least 5,900 social housing units; the rate of trained workers with degrees and certificates reaches 32.5%; the rate of multidimensional poor households decreases to 0.8%. The province strives to have 20 communes meet new rural standards according to the set of criteria for the period 2026 - 2030.

Along with economic development goals, the province focuses on developing high-quality tourism products with strong cultural identity, brands and competitiveness. The province speeds up the investment preparation progress for the project to recreate the ancient Hereford Street; the Phu Cu urban, service and resort project; the implementation of the urban complex project, eco-tourism, and Khoi Chau golf course. In 2026, the province strives to welcome over 3.5 million tourists, of which international visitors will reach over 70,000.

The draft plan also emphasizes the task of ensuring national defense and security, controlling and reducing at least 10% of cases of crimes against social order, creating a stable and safe environment for sustainable socio-economic development.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Pham Quang Ngoc emphasized the need to set high growth targets but must have specific, feasible, synchronous solutions and a clear roadmap. He requested the Department of Finance to fully absorb opinions and complete the draft in the direction of each task being associated with specific goals, clearly showing which agency is responsible; at the same time, requesting departments, branches and localities to develop an implementation plan in January 2026, contributing to the successful implementation of the province's socio-economic development goals in 2026.
