Hai Phong elects additional positions of members of the City People's Committee

The meeting to carry out personnel work is under the authority of the City People's Council. Accordingly, the position of Member of the City People's Committee, term 2021 - 2026 was terminated for Mr. Le Quy Tiep, former Director of the Department of Construction; and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Director of the Department of Construction, was elected to the position of Member of the City People's Committee, term 2021 - 2026.

At the meeting, the delegates of the City People's Council discussed and voted unanimously to approve the draft Resolution on: Decision to reduce lending interest rates from the city's budget entrusted through the Social Policy Bank and adjust the Hai Phong City Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

Speaking at the closing session, Chairman of the City People's Council Le Van Hieu said that the City People's Council has approved a reduction in interest rates for loans from the city's budget entrusted through the Social Policy Bank, for the poor and other policy beneficiaries. This content is developed in accordance with the Prime Minister's regulations on reducing interest rates in policy credit programs, thereby affirming the city's interest and responsibility in synchronously implementing social security policies, contributing to stabilizing people's lives and promoting sustainable socio-economic development.

The City People's Council has also reviewed and approved the adjustment of the City Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050; thereby affirming Hai Phong as one of the leading localities in implementing planning adjustments.

In response to practical requirements, the task of adjusting planning does not stop at arranging and expanding development space, but also aims to restructure the overall urban management model, reallocate development resources and reposition the role and functions of the city in the national urban system.

According to that orientation, the planning has shifted from the model of "one center - coastal corridor" to the model of a multipolar, multi-center, multi-corridor dynamic urban area; expressed in 4 core development orientations, taking international seaport - logistics services as a pillar connecting Hai Phong with Dong Hai Duong; at the same time promoting green and smart industry, in which the Western specialized economic zone is identified as a new growth driver. Along with that is the development of tourism - ecological services and the formation of a new Political - Administrative Center of the Bac Song Cam according to the multi-functional, modern urban model. This is an important legal basis to speed up the preparation and adjustment of urban planning, rural planning and specialized and technical planning in accordance with the provisions of law.

With the spirit of innovation, aspiration for development and high political determination, the Chairman of the City People's Council suggested that the entire city's political system urgently and effectively implement the Hai Phong City Planning that has just been approved by the City People's Council; turn strategic vision into concrete action, real results, bring Hai Phong to strong development, worthy of the leading role of the Northern region and the whole country in the new development stage.
