Hanoi builds a bridge worth nearly VND880 billion over the Cat Linh - Ha Dong railway line

The People's Committee of Kien Hung Ward (Hanoi) recently announced the listing and public disclosure of the architectural plan for the Le Trong Tan and National Highway 6 intersection overpass construction investment project.

The public location is at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Kien Hung Ward - Lot C3, Van Phu Urban Area, Kien Hung Ward.

The posting period is 30 days, from January 15 to February 15, 2026.

The investment project to build an overpass at the intersection of Le Trong Tan Street and National Highway 6 (old Ha Dong District, now in Kien Hung and Duong Noi Wards) was approved by the Hanoi People's Committee in Decision No. 1993/QD-UBND dated April 11, 2025.

The project to invest in the construction of an overpass with a scale of 4 lanes in the direction of Le Trong Tan Street - Van Khe Street; to build an overpass with a main span and a steel approach span, with a total global length of about 883m.

At the same time, cutting sidewalks to expand the traffic route, reorganize traffic, traffic lights at intersections and build and move technical infrastructure works, trees to ensure traffic safety and urban aesthetics.

The Hanoi People's Committee assigned the Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board as the investor. The project belongs to group B with a total estimated investment of nearly 880 billion VND, implemented in the period of 2026-2028.

Regarding architectural ideas, the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the design of cable-stayed bridges, saws, arch bridges... is difficult to achieve due to factors such as high cost and long construction time.

In addition, the overpass on the Cat Linh - Ha Dong railway located on high ground is obstructed from view but the beautiful structure is not much appreciated.

Based on the above requirements, the actual location of the project will be built over the existing Cat Linh - Ha Dong railway line, the use of light steel beams as used before with improvements in the curves at the bottom of the beams, main pillars to create architectural highlights has been shared by the design group with the same idea.

"We find that this option is consistent with current reality, with the requirements set out in the paper" - the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board stated.

The Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board assessed that the traffic situation at the Le Trong Tan - National Highway 6 intersection is very crowded, so the construction time must be calculated as soon as possible.

The structures should also be mechanized in the factory, to the construction site only for installation and placement... to minimize the impact on surrounding people and vehicles participating in traffic.
