Director of Hanoi National University elected to the 14th Party Central Committee

On the evening of January 22, the 14th National Congress of the Party announced the list of 200 members of the 14th Central Executive Committee, including 180 official members and 20 absent members.

According to the published list, Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Minh Son, Party Committee Secretary, Director of Hanoi National University, was elected to the 14th Party Central Committee.

He received his PhD in Automation Engineering from Dresden University of Technical General Education, Germany in 1998.

After graduating with a doctorate, he has been a lecturer at Hanoi University of Science and Technology since 2000, and was recognized as an Associate Professor in 2006.

He has held the following positions at Hanoi University of Science and Technology: Head of Training Department 2008; Vice Principal 2014; Party Committee Secretary, Principal 2015; Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the School Council (August 2020).

In October 2020, Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Minh Son was appointed by the Prime Minister to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Education and Training.

In September 2025, he was transferred and appointed to the position of Chairman of the Council and Director of Hanoi National University.

Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Minh Son has made important contributions to promoting innovation in higher education, improving training quality and university governance. With extensive experience from the role of lecturer, and management positions at department, school and ministry levels, he has brought innovative thinking, strategic vision and modern approach to the management and development of higher education.

With extensive experience in education management and outstanding marks during his time working at Hanoi University of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education and Training, he is expected to continue to develop Hanoi National University strongly, affirming his position as a core training and research center of Vietnam and standing shoulder to shoulder with the world's leading educational institutions.
