Hanoi announces traffic organization to build underpass in Long Bien
Hanoi adjusts traffic organization on Co Linh road and Dam Quang Trung - Co Linh intersection to serve the construction of an underpass worth over VND747 billion.
The Hanoi Department of Construction has just announced the pilot adjustment of traffic organization within the reach of the Co Linh - Dam Quang Trung intersection to serve the construction of an underpass investment project at the Co Linh intersection, Long Bien ward.
The pilot plan to adjust traffic organization on Co Linh Street and Dam Quang Trung - Co Linh intersection is specifically as follows:
- Prohibit cars from turning around at the intersection of the Co Linh overpass and alley 64 Co Linh in the direction of Co Linh - Chuong Duong bridge.
+ Vehicles in need will turn around at Co Linh intersection with Tran Dang Khoa street to go to Ring Road 2.
+ Add a warning sign for remote lane division for vehicles that need to go to the city center in the direction of National Highway 5 - Thanh Tri Bridge or National Highway 5 - Chuong Duong Bridge.
+ Add a warning sign for remote lane division for vehicles from the city center to the eastern provinces in the direction of Nguyen Khoi dike - Thanh Tri bridge.
- Organize traffic for vehicles that need to turn right continuously at Co Linh intersection after changing the sidewalk to widen the road surface from 3 to 4 lanes, the average width of the road surface after the change is from 10.5m to 14m (the average width increases compared to before the change from 3.5m to 5m).
The pilot implementation period is from January 25, 2026 until a replacement notice is issued.
On October 4, the Hanoi People's Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for the underpass construction investment project at the Co Linh intersection.
The starting point of the underpass connecting to the Vinh Tuy Bridge project, phase 2, is about 400m from the intersection with Co Linh Street. The end point connects with the existing Dam Quang Trung road, about 1,000m from the intersection with Co Linh road.
The underpass is designed in the direction of Vinh Tuy Bridge to National Highway 5, the tunnel heart coincides with the existing Dam Quang Trung road. The total length of the tunnel is about 600m (of which the length of the closed tunnel is 100m); the tunnel cross-section is 27.1m wide, with 6 lanes (each side has 3 lanes).
The total investment of the project is more than 747 billion VND, from the Hanoi city budget, the contract implementation period is 26 months.
