Hanoi will dismantle the BRT bus waiting area to serve the construction of an overpass worth nearly 880 billion VND
Hanoi - A BRT bus stop and pedestrian bridge will be temporarily dismantled to serve the construction of piers T5-T6 of the Le Trong Tan - National Highway 6 overpass.
The project to invest in building an overpass at the intersection of Le Trong Tan street and National Highway 6 (old Ha Dong district, now belonging to Kien Hung and Duong Noi wards) was approved by the Hanoi People's Committee in Decision No. 1993/QD-UBND dated April 11, 2025.
The project invests in building an overpass with a scale of 4 lanes in the direction of Le Trong Tan street - Van Khe street; building an overpass with a main span and steel approach span, the total length of the bridge is about 883m.
At the same time, cutting sidewalks to expand the driving lanes, reorganizing traffic, traffic lights in the intersection area and building and moving technical infrastructure and green trees to ensure traffic safety and urban aesthetics.
Hanoi City People's Committee assigned the Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board to be the investor. The project belongs to group B with a total estimated investment of nearly 880 billion VND, implemented in the period 2026-2028.
Recently, the People's Committees of Kien Hung and Duong Noi wards have issued notices on listing and publicizing the architectural plan of the project to invest in building an overpass at the intersection of Le Trong Tan street and National Highway 6.

The Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the actual location of the project will be built beyond the existing Cat Linh - Ha Dong railway line.
The design of cable-stayed bridges, cable-stayed bridges, arch bridges... is difficult to be feasible due to factors such as high costs and long construction time. The fact that the overpass on the Cat Linh - Ha Dong railway is located at an elevated level obscures visibility, but the beautiful structure is not admired by many people.
The Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the use of light steel beams with improved beam base curves and main pillars to create architectural highlights is a suitable option for the current reality.

The investor emphasized that before organizing construction, the construction contractor needs to agree on a construction plan with the Cat Linh - Ha Dong railway management unit and must be approved by a competent authority for the construction plan.
At the same time, it is necessary to coordinate with functional units to ensure absolute safety of railways and roads during the bridge construction process, especially during the installation of this railway overpass span.
The BRT bus station and pedestrian bridge located within the scope of piers T5-T6 will be temporarily dismantled during construction. Then they will be returned after the overpass is put into operation.
During construction, use cone-shaped stakes and traffic lights to prevent the construction area from roads with traffic.
During the installation period, the contractor needs to coordinate with traffic police and traffic inspectors to regulate traffic on the spot and divert traffic from afar to avoid traffic congestion.
It is necessary to notify in the mass media 3 days in advance and the notification time is 2 consecutive days.

Regarding traffic organization solutions, for directions on the Le Trong Tan overpass: vehicles circulate in both directions on the overpass.
For intersections under overpasses, intersections on Le Trong Tan street and Van Khe street: organize traffic with traffic lights and traffic signs (right, left, right turns follow traffic light control systems and traffic sign systems). Under the overpass of Le Trong Tan street near the intersection area, arrange a turnaround point.
