Hanoi Metro will transport more than 20.68 million passengers in 2025, ticket revenue will exceed 143 billion VND, and operate metro lines in absolute safety.
In 2025, Hanoi Railway Company Limited (Hanoi Metro) recorded a transportation volume of more than 20.68 million passengers, exceeding the assigned plan by 7.13%.
According to Hanoi Metro, the above results were achieved in the context that the unit continues to receive the attention of the Government, ministries, branches of Hanoi City and the support of the people. During the year, Hanoi Metro focused on implementing three breakthroughs including: Production and revenue growth; perfecting the organizational apparatus; promoting digital transformation, applying technology in operations.
Notably, the Cat Linh - Ha Dong route 2A transported more than 13.68 million passengers, exceeding the annual plan by 7.4% and increasing by 15.3% compared to 2024.
Ticket revenue reached over 143 billion VND, exceeding the plan by 29.09%, thereby contributing to a reduction of more than 31 billion VND in subsidies from the city budget. Only route 2A achieved revenue of VND 97.78 billion, up 26.6% compared to the plan and up 28.9% compared to 2024.
Along with business efficiency, operations are guaranteed absolute safety with 161,611 passenger ships, the total operating distance reaches more than 1.75 million km, maintained for safety throughout 365 days. Periodic maintenance and repair work reached nearly 100% of the plan. The average income of workers will reach 13.5 million VND/person/month, an increase of 26.08% compared to 2024.
2025 also marks an important step forward in Hanoi Metro's digital transformation when deploying an electronic identification, authentication and biometric identification system on route 2A Cat Linh - Ha Dong from December 5, 2025. This system will continue to be tested on route 3.1 Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station from January 1, 2026, expected to operate inter-connected from February 1, 2026.
Entering 2026, Hanoi Metro has identified 5 key goals, focusing on safe and efficient operation of routes 2A and 3.1 (elevated section); mastering operation and maintenance technology; perfecting the organizational model associated with digital transformation; effectively exploiting infrastructure assets and building a prestigious Hanoi Metro brand at home and abroad.
According to the plan, Hanoi Metro strives to increase passenger transport output and ticket revenue by over 11%; revenue from infrastructure, trade and service exploitation reaches over 30 billion VND; labor productivity increases by 810%, labor income is quite good, contributing to the development of a green - smart - safe Hanoi urban transport system.
