Hanoi completes rescue project to relieve traffic congestion at the southern gateway in the first quarter of 2026

The Hanoi People's Committee has just sent a report to the Hanoi People's Council on implementing the project under the Emergency Line to reduce traffic congestion, organize traffic to serve important national events, including infrastructure renovation works, organize traffic in the area of Phap Van intersection, Nuoc Ngam Bus Station and lane 15 Ngoc Hoi.

The Hanoi People's Committee said that the infrastructure renovation project, traffic organization in the Phap Van intersection area, Nuoc Ngam Bus Station and lane 15 Ngoc Hoi is invested by the Department of Construction.

The purpose of the construction is to enhance traffic connectivity, reduce congestion and ensure traffic safety in the southern gateway area. Construction location in Hoang Mai ward.

For example, the scale, tasks and requirements for the project: Compacting the median strip between Do Muoi Street to widen the road surface; cutting the summer to open the road surface of Ngoc Hoi 15 lane; opening branch roads: connecting Ngoc Hoi 15 lane with Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway; connecting Do Muoi Street with Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway; cutting the median strip to open the road surface at the intersection of Tran Thu Do Street and Do Muoi Street; moving technical infrastructure works, floating underground within the project implementation area; painting markings and signs to ensure traffic safety according to QCVN 41:2024/TVT.

The estimated implementation cost is 19.5 billion VND from economic experience capital (regular expenditure expenses of the City budget 2025 - 2026).

Expected implementation time - completion: Construction to be completed before January 15, 2026; project completion in the first quarter of 2026.

The Hanoi People's Committee said that the project is currently under construction at about 70% of the volume: Alley 15 Ngoc Hoi has been expanded; the connecting road from Alley 15 Ngoc Hoi to the expressway has been completed; the median strip of the Tran Thu Do - Do Muoi intersection has been cut off; the branch under the left turn bridge from Do Muoi Street to Alley 15 Ngoc Hoi has been completed, and was officially opened to traffic on the evening of December 31, 2025.
