Hanoi introduces Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc to run for the 16th National Assembly
Hanoi - Voters of the Hanoi Party Committee have unanimously introduced Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc as a candidate for the 16th National Assembly.
On the morning of January 13, at the headquarters of the Hanoi Party Committee, a meeting of voters of the City Party Committee's agencies was held to introduce candidates for the 16th National Assembly and the 17th Hanoi People's Council, term 2026-2031.
At the conference, voters of the City Party Committee's agency unanimously introduced Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, as a candidate for the 16th National Assembly.
The conference also introduced Mr. Nguyen Trong Dong, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, to run for the 17th Hanoi People's Council delegation, term 2026-2031.
With the majority of delegates in favor, the conference approved the list of introductions for Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc to run for the 16th National Assembly and Mr. Nguyen Trong Dong to run for the 17th Hanoi People's Council, term 2026-2031.
Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc emphasized that the election of 16th National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term is a particularly important political event for the country and the capital.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc affirmed that he will seriously and fully absorb the opinions of voters to continue self-examination, self-reading, constantly practicing and striving during his work.
Having my comrades and voters trust me to nominate me as a delegate to the 16th National Assembly, I deeply realize that this is not only an honor but also a great political responsibility before the Party, the State and the People, before voters nationwide in general and voters in the Capital in particular. If I win the election, I will continue to strive to train and perform well the key tasks of National Assembly deputies, said the Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc was born in 1964, from Hung Yen province, with a Master's degree in Law.
He has worked for a long time in the public security sector, holding the positions of: Deputy Director of Hanoi City Police; Deputy Director General of the General Department of Public Security; Director of the Department of Investigation Police on Corruption, Economic Crimes, and Smuggling.
In August 2019, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Public Security and held this position for nearly 5 years. Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc was promoted to the rank of Senior Lieutenant General from December 2023.
In early June 2024, he was transferred and assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Chief of the Party Central Committee Office.
In mid-August 2024, the 13th Party Central Committee elected Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc as additional member of the Secretariat.
In January 2025, Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc was elected to the 13th Politburo and elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee.
In November 2025, he was transferred and appointed by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
