The Lao Cai Station Square renovation project (Lao Cai Ward, Lao Cai City) has a total investment of 12 billion VND, taken from land use fees, tax, fee collection and city budget capital.
The project started in February 2025, and is expected to be completed and put into use in August 2025.
Accordingly, this project will carry out the following items: Construction of the central yard of the square, drainage system, lighting, renovation and paving of sidewalks on some roads around the square.

On April 10, at Lao Cai station, according to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, in front of the station was a large area of land surrounded by corrugated iron sheets.
At the construction site, a series of trucks and concrete trucks are operating, workers are urgently constructing leveling and fountain items. Many large items are being accelerated to soon take shape.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong (Lao Cai ward, Lao Cai city) said: "The area in front of this station has only been used as a parking lot for many years, so it is very stuffy. Now that there is a project to change the landscape and create an airy space for this point, it is very reasonable. Therefore, we hope the project will be completed soon so that the urban space of the city will be more beautiful".
