14th Party Congress establishes launching policies

Announcing the results of the Congress, Politburo Member, Standing Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, Standing Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly Do Van Chien stated clearly that after 5 working days, with a spirit of serious, responsible, scientific work, highly promoting collective wisdom, democracy, and innovation, the 14th Party Congress was a great success.

This is a particularly important political event of the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army; it is a milestone opening a new stage of development for the country in the new context, situation and goals; it is a Congress of strategic autonomy, self-reliance, self-strengthening, national pride, aspiration to rise up, and steadfast belief in the path that the Party, Uncle Ho and our people have chosen.

With a spirit of democracy and high responsibility, the delegates spent a lot of time carefully studying the documents and enthusiastically discussed with 815 delegates speaking at the Delegation and Hall.

The Congress conducted elections in accordance with the Regulations, electing once enough 180 official members of the Party Central Committee and 20 alternate members of the Party Central Committee of the XIV term.

The 14th Central Committee of the Party held the first Conference to elect the Party's leadership agencies, including electing the 14th Politburo consisting of 19 comrades.

Comrade To Lam - General Secretary of the 13th Party Central Committee - was elected by the Party Central Committee as General Secretary of the 14th Party Central Committee.

The Congress established "launch pad" decisions to successfully implement the country's two 100-year strategic goals.

In which, regarding the general objectives, the Congress identified: Maintaining a peaceful and stable environment; rapid and sustainable development of the country; improving and comprehensively enhancing people's lives; strategic autonomy, self-reliance, confidence, and strong progress in the new era of the nation; successfully implementing the goal of becoming a developing country with modern industry and high-middle income by 2030; realizing the vision of becoming a developed country with high income by 2045, a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, civilized, and happy socialist Vietnam.

Strive to achieve an average growth rate of gross domestic product (GDP) for the period 2026 - 2030 of 10%/year or more; GDP per capita by 2030 reaching about 8,500 USD/year.

To achieve the goal of national development, the Congress identified guiding viewpoints and major orientations for the coming time.

On the basis of major orientations, the Congress identified the period 2026 - 2030 as focusing on creating strong breakthroughs in 3 decisive areas, including: breakthroughs in institutions and implementation; breakthroughs in high-quality human resources associated with science, technology, innovation; breakthroughs in synchronous and modern infrastructure.

The consistent ideology of the Document and also the source of strength of the Vietnamese revolution is: "The people are the root", the people are the center, the subject, the goal and the driving force of development. All guidelines and policies must be directed towards improving the material and spiritual life of the people; ensuring the people's right to mastery; respecting, listening to and relying on the people. In the new period, it is even more necessary to care about building the people's hearts.

Regarding the organization of implementation, the Congress Document emphasized the requirement for action; promoting the responsibility of each level, each sector, and each official; resolutely overcoming the situation of saying a lot and doing little, saying without matching with doing, even "saying well, doing poorly", lacking inspection and supervision; setting high goals but slow implementation, low efficiency.

The very good success of the 14th Congress shows the belief, will, determination and new development vision of our Party and nation.
