Russian President holds phone call with General Secretary To Lam, congratulates the success of the 14th National Party Congress

President Vladimir Putin warmly congratulated our Party on successfully organizing the 14th National Party Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, congratulated the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo and General Secretary To Lam on being elected by the Party Congress to leadership positions in the new term.

President Vladimir Putin affirmed that this is an important political event, determining directions, setting major goals and through important decisions, tasks and measures to bring Vietnam to rapid and sustainable development in the new era and become a high-income developed country by 2045.

The President emphasized that Comrade To Lam's continued election as General Secretary of the 14th Party Central Committee affirms his political prestige and important contributions to the planning and making of strategic decisions for sustainable socio-economic development, protecting Vietnam's interests and enhancing its position in the international arena.

On behalf of the Communist Party and people of Vietnam, General Secretary To Lam expressed his gratitude to President Vladimir Putin for his attention to the important political event of the Communist Party of Vietnam, as well as the President's warm, sincere and personal congratulations to the Communist Party of Vietnam, the people of Vietnam and the General Secretary personally.

General Secretary To Lam emphasized that through the Congresses, Vietnam has always had traditional friends who cared about and supported, including the former Soviet Union and the Russian Federation today.

The General Secretary shared that the 14th Congress was a great success, completing the great historical mission, summarizing the implementation of the 13th Congress Resolution, evaluating the 40 years of renovation and the results of implementing the Guidelines and strategies for socio-economic development; not only setting out goals, orientations and tasks for the next 5 years but also deciding on issues of strategic significance to the future and fate of the Vietnamese people in the new era of development.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed that Vietnam always considers Russia a trustworthy and important partner of Vietnam in Europe, and wishes to develop friendly relations and cooperation with the Russian Federation in the spirit of the Vietnam - Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

President Vladimir Putin emphasized that Russia attaches special importance to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Vietnam on the basis of 75 years of traditional friendship, which has been constantly nurtured by the leaders and people of the two countries.

President Vladimir Putin affirmed that the Russian Federation will continue to coordinate closely to comprehensively strengthen bilateral linkages, for the benefit of the Russian people and the Vietnamese people, for the purpose of ensuring stability and security in the Asia-Pacific region.

On this occasion, President Putin thanked General Secretary To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation for attending the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic Defense War.

General Secretary To Lam and President Vladimir Putin agreed to be ready to discuss constructively and openly in the spirit of mutual understanding, respect and harmony of interests to elevate cooperation in traditional fields and expand to potential new fields.
