The President and 3 Generals will speak at the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South

On April 10, the Ministry of National Defense coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to organize a press conference to introduce the National Scientific Conference to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

The workshop has the theme: "The Great Spring Victory of 1975 with the New Development era of the Vietnamese people".

At the press conference, Colonel Le Thanh Bai - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Institute of Defense Strategy and History - said that the conference will take place on the morning of April 20 (Sunday) at the hall of the Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Officials (Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City).

Colonel Le Thanh Bai said that the workshop will have 119 presentations. Including speeches by President Luong Cuong; General Phan Van Giang - Minister of National Defense; General Luong Tam Quang - Minister of Public Security; General Nguyen Tan Cuong - Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense.

Accordingly, President Luong Cuong discussed the theme "Promoting the spirit of great victory in the spring of 1975 to develop the country to prosperity and power"; General Phan Van Giang discussed the theme "Great victory in the spring of 1975 - a lesson for the cause of building the army, strengthening national defense and defending the Fatherland in the new situation"; General Luong Tam Quang discussed the theme "Vietnam People's Public Security in the cause of fighting for the liberation of the South and national reunification"; General Nguyen Tan Cuong discussed the theme "Great victory in the spring of 1975 - a lesson for building the army to modernise".

Colonel Le Thanh Bai informed that the presentations will clarify and contribute to a deeper analysis of the historical context, results, and significance of the Spring Uprising General Strike in 1975; continue to affirm the correct and wise strategic policy of the Party Central Committee, headed by President Ho Chi Minh in leading the resistance war; promote the significance of the great victory in the spring of 1975, apply lessons learned in the process of building a national defense and people's security, consolidate the great national unity bloc to build and firmly protect the Fatherland.

The workshop was attended by about 700 delegates and reporters. Among them, there were the appearance of leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, leaders and former leaders of the Ministries of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, Ho Chi Minh City and a number of other localities along with scientists.

In addition, the workshop is expected to be attended by two historical witnesses, Major General Nguyen Ngoc Doanh, former Political Commissar of Regiment 141, former Deputy Commander of Political Affairs of Army Corps 4, former Vice Principal of the Army Officer School; soldier Hoang Thi Khanh, Captain of the Propaganda Arms Team of the Saigon - Gia Dinh Region Propaganda Department, Head of the Communications Department of Former Political Prisoners and Prisoners of Ho Chi Minh City.

The two historical witnesses above were those who directly participated in the General Offensive and Uprising in the spring of 1975.
