President hands over the decision to appoint 16 Ambassadors for the 2025 - 2028 term
The President appointed 16 Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to other countries.
On the afternoon of January 16, at the Presidential Palace, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong presented the decision to appoint the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam abroad for the 2025-2028 term.
At the ceremony, authorized by the President, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Nguyen Hoang Anh announced the President's decision to appoint 16 Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to other countries.
Handing over the decision to appoint and assign tasks, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Luong Cuong congratulated the comrades who were appointed Ambassadors and Heads of representative agencies in other countries; affirming that this is a recognition and appreciation of the efforts and aspirations of the comrades during their working process, and at the same time, an honor and glorious responsibility that the Party, State and people trust and assign them.
The President requested the Ambassadors and Heads of Representative Agencies to be steadfast in the foreign policy of the Party and State; update and closely follow the goals, requirements and tasks of national development, the foreign affairs focuses set forth in the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress as well as the directions of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to effectively carry out foreign affairs tasks in the coming time.
In particular, the Ambassadors and Heads of Representative Agencies need to ensure close foreign coordination with national defense and security, creating a solid "three-legged shield", serving the strategy of protecting the Fatherland "from early on, from afar" and developing the country; grasp the situation to advise and propose to the Party and State to promulgate and update foreign policies and solutions, ensuring the highest national and ethnic interests.
The President emphasized the need to effectively implement diplomacy to serve economic development, contributing practically to realizing the double-digit growth target in the coming term; at the same time, it is clear that depending on each locality, each Ambassador needs to exploit the strengths and characteristics, take advantage of resources for national development; prioritize promoting the search and connection of cooperation in key areas such as science - technology, strategic infrastructure, advanced human resources, etc.
The President noted that Ambassadors and Heads of Representative Agencies should do a good job of community work, especially solidarity, gathering the overseas Vietnamese community and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese citizens and businesses in their home country; at the same time, further promoting the human resources and talents of the overseas Vietnamese community, especially intellectuals, experts, scientists and entrepreneurs.
The President also hopes that, as representatives of Vietnam abroad, the Ambassadors and Heads of representative agencies will contribute to spreading and promoting the image of the country, culture and people of Vietnam; promoting their role as leaders, gathering solidarity and unity, uniting cadres in the collective of representative agencies and from different forces into a strong collective, for the common cause.
Speaking at the ceremony, representatives of the appointed Ambassadors affirmed that they will work and devote all their efforts to contributing to the realization of the country's two 100-year goals; comprehensively implementing foreign strategy in the new era, commensurate with the historical stature, culture and position of the country.
