Can Tho finalizes the date to collect voters' opinions on the Project to merge administrative units
Can Tho - To ensure unity and proactiveness in the organization, the Department of Home Affairs has officially announced the time to collect voters' opinions as April 16, 2025.
On April 13, Mr. Chau Viet Tha - Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Can Tho City signed a document to the People's Committees of districts, towns and communes, informing about the time to collect voters' opinions on the Project to reorganize and merge administrative units (ADUs) at the provincial and commune levels.
Previously, on April 6, 2025, the Department of Home Affairs issued Official Letter No. 692 guiding a number of contents in the process of collecting voters' opinions on the above Project. According to the original plan, the time for collecting opinions was scheduled to take place on April 15 and 16, 2025. However, to ensure consistency and proactiveness in the organization, the Department of Home Affairs has officially announced the time to collect voters' opinions as April 16, 2025.
Also according to the plan, the People's Committee of Can Tho City will issue specific directives and send the draft Project, including a summary, to localities on April 14, 2025. After collecting voters' opinions, localities will organize People's Council meetings to approve the content:
Accordingly, on the morning of April 17, 2025, the People's Council at the commune level held a meeting; in the afternoon of the same day, it was at the district level.
Localities need to complete documents and records and send them to the Department of Home Affairs before April 18, 2025 for timely synthesis and submission to competent authorities for consideration.
Sonctioning voters' opinions is an important step to ensure consensus in the implementation of the Project on arranging and merging administrative units in the city.
