Appointment of Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology

Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed and issued Decision No. 72/QD-TTg on the transfer and appointment of Mr. Bui The Duy, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology to hold the position of Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.

The term of appointment is 5 years. This decision takes effect from January 11, 2026.

Mr. Bui The Duy was born on May 9, 1978; hometown: Ha Tinh province. Qualifications: Associate Professor, PhD in Information Technology; Senior in political theory.

Before April 2018, Mr. Bui The Duy held the position of Director of the Vietnam Youth Academy, Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Chief of Office of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

On April 12, 2018, Mr. Bui The Duy was appointed Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, according to Decision No. 398/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.

On January 30, 2021, at the 13th National Congress of the Party, Mr. Bui The Duy was elected as an alternate member of the 13th Party Central Committee, term 2021-2026.

On August 16, 2025, at the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology, term 2025-2030, Mr. Bui The Duy was appointed to join the Party Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology for the term 2025-2030.
