Gia Lai Provincial Party Secretary promises to be the center of solidarity of the new province
Gia Lai - The People's Council of Gia Lai province, term XII, 2021-2026, held its first session on the first day the province officially operated under the new government model.
The session marked a historic turning point
The session announced resolutions and decisions on the appointment of Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Head of the Board of the People's Council of Gia Lai province for the 2021-2026 term; appointed personnel to hold the positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman of the new Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee and announced the list of delegates of the People's Council of Gia Lai province for the 12th term.
In his opening speech, Mr. Rah Lan Chung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Council - emphasized that this is a session of profound political, legal and practical significance, marking a historic turning point, opening a stage to build a new Gia Lai province to develop rapidly, sustainably and reach the regional and national level.
After the merger, the organizational apparatus of the new Gia Lai Provincial People's Council has been consolidated in accordance with regulations, ensuring the implementation of tasks and powers from July 1.
"With a high sense of responsibility, I believe that the delegates of the Provincial People's Council will promote their intelligence, solidarity, democracy, contribute many profound opinions, and resolve the contents of the session to be objective, fair, practical and in accordance with the law, meeting the expectations of voters", Mr. Chung hoped.
Do not let communes and wards become "owned worlds" in management
Directing at the meeting, Gia Lai Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung affirmed that the meeting has a particularly important role and significance to perfect the organization of the People's Council and specialized agencies of the Provincial People's Committee, promptly implementing political tasks in the new period.
The newly established Gia Lai province has the second largest area in the country, with a population of about 3.5 million people. The province has a large plateau, 134km of coastline, a fertile plain, and an infrastructure system including 2 airports - something rare, seaports, railways, roads, etc.
"It can be said that Gia Lai is almost a miniature country of Vietnam, converging all the conditions of "time - land - prosperity". The remaining problem is how to promote the potential and strengths to make the province break through," said Mr. Dung.
The Gia Lai Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that Binh Dinh - Gia Lai (old) has officially "came home". From now on, we must "make big, make big", do things that are beneficial to the common development of the homeland, eliminate the old investment ideology for Binh Dinh or Gia Lai.
As Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - the head of the new Gia Lai province, Mr. Dung pledged to be a center of solidarity and work coordination between agencies, in order to build the province to be the strongest.
However, Mr. Dung also pointed out that the new province is facing many challenges such as low starting point of the province's economy, no "locomotive" enterprises, no breakthrough lead projects. The planning system is not yet synchronous, there is a risk of overlapping...
"Previously, Binh Dinh and the old Gia Lai provinces both had their own provincial planning, but after the merger, there were overlaps. The People's Council and People's Committee of the new Gia Lai province must soon develop a comprehensive plan, close to the potential, strengths and development space of the province," Mr. Dung directed.
Mr. Dung suggested that all leaders, agencies, units, especially heads of specialized agencies of the province must quickly get to work.
"In the coming week, the Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee needs to complete the assignment of targets to new communes and wards. Evaluate cadres based on assigned targets. Currently, the district level has been abandoned, if not assigned targets, not supervised, managed closely, and not skillfully, each commune and ward will become "a world" in operation", Mr. Dung suggested.
The crystallization of 2 traditional lands
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan affirmed that he will work with the collective leadership of the Provincial People's Committee to commit to acting with the spirit of "creativity - integrity - action - responsibility - efficiency", in which the motto "make an example - discipline - focus - break through" is used as the orientation throughout the entire management and operation process.
"The new Gia Lai province is the crystallization of two lands rich in historical, cultural traditions and solidarity. This is the moment for us to act together resolutely and unanimously for a prosperous development future," said Mr. Tuan.
