The press proactively coordinates propaganda on military, defense and foreign defense tasks, contributing to building a "refined, compact, strong and modern" Army.
On the afternoon of January 8, in Hanoi, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) held a conference to summarize press work and general publications in 2025, deploying directions and tasks for 2026.
Chairing the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To - Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army - acknowledged and commended the efforts of all agencies and units in the army, who have coordinated to do a good job of propaganda and publishing in 2025.
At the same time, Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To thanked the news agencies and press inside and outside the Army for actively coordinating and organizing timely and intensive propaganda on military and defense activities in the past time.
Affirming that the press is a shock force on the Party's ideological and cultural front, playing a particularly important role in orienting public opinion, maintaining the ideological position in the Army, Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To requested agencies and units; press agencies and publications to strictly comply with the directives of the Party, State, Ministry of National Defense, General Department of Politics on press and publishing; continue to do a good job of state management of press and publishing activities; strictly implement the work of speaking and providing information to the press at all levels; actively coordinate to promote propaganda on military, defense and defense foreign affairs tasks; develop and effectively implement a plan to transform the press digital transformation.

Senior General Truong Thien To emphasized that 2026 is the year of the 14th National Congress of the Party, the election of 16th National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 12th Army Party Congress, posing increasingly high requirements for press and publishing work.
Agencies and units need to continue to innovate propaganda content and methods; strengthen the fight to protect the Party's ideological foundation; proactively coordinate propaganda on military, defense and foreign defense tasks, contributing to building a "refined, compact, strong and modern" Army, meeting the requirements of the tasks in the new situation.

In 2025, the world and regional situation will continue to develop in a complex and unpredictable manner. Many important political events took place in the country; the entire Party, people, and army resolutely implemented many major policies and decisions; hostile forces continued to push against the Party, State, and Army.
In that context, with the close leadership and direction of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and the General Department of Politics, press work and publications of the entire army in 2025 have closely followed the central political tasks, achieving many important and comprehensive results.
Propaganda coordination between agencies inside and outside the Army has been strengthened. Hundreds of thousands of high-quality news, articles, photos, programs, and video clips were posted, distributed, and widely spread the beautiful image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new period, especially in training activities, combat readiness, foreign defense, helping people prevent, combat, overcome the consequences of natural disasters, search and rescue, and participate in the United Nations peacekeeping force...
At the conference, the Organizing Committee awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Minister of National Defense to 20 collectives and 17 individuals; Certificates of Merit of the Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army awarded 20 collectives and 19 individuals for their outstanding achievements in directing and propagating the press, publishing on military, defense and military tasks of the Vietnam People's Army.
Lao Dong Newspaper is one of 20 collectives to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Minister of National Defense. The Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army also awarded a Certificate of Merit to an individual of Lao Dong Newspaper with outstanding achievements in press propaganda work on military, defense and military tasks and the People's Army in 2025.
