An Giang effectively mobilizes all resources for rapid development, entering a new era with the whole country

With a GRDP growth rate of 8.39% in 2025, leading the Mekong Delta, An Giang province is showing strong momentum after merging and implementing the 2-level local government model. To realize the aspiration to make the province one of the bright spots of the country in the new era, An Giang has been focusing all resources on strategic economic pillars such as marine economy, tourism and logistics infrastructure.

Reporters of An Giang Newspaper and Radio and Television Station had an interview with Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Tien Hai before the 14th National Party Congress on breakthrough solutions to achieve the double-digit growth target in the coming time.

- Dear Provincial Party Secretary, with the goal of making An Giang a strong marine economic center of the country by 2030, what are the key resources and what breakthrough results in the past have created a solid foundation for the province to confidently enter the new era?

- To achieve the goal of making An Giang a fairly developed province of the country by 2030; a strong marine economic center of the country, with the spirit of thoroughly grasping the Party's guidelines and policies stated in the documents submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Party, the An Giang Provincial Party Committee clearly identified: mobilizing and effectively using all resources is a decisive requirement for the province to develop rapidly, sustainably and enter a new era with the whole country.

First of all, An Giang puts people and the political system at the center of the process of creating and developing. After the merger, the whole province has more than 131,700 Party members, 107 Party Committees under the Provincial Party Committee and more than 20,000 operating enterprises, which is a huge political - social resource to successfully implement the set development goals. Party building, administrative reform, improving the investment and business environment, innovation and digital transformation are being promoted, contributing to strengthening the trust of people and businesses, creating a stable foundation for long-term development.

Next, the province focuses on unblocking and effectively mobilizing financial - investment resources. In 2025, the province's GRDP growth rate will reach 8.39%, leading the Mekong Delta and ranking 14/34 provinces and cities nationwide. Total state budget revenue reached over VND 25,188 billion, total social investment capital reached VND 89,048 billion, up over 35% over the same period; the whole province has more than 4,000 newly established enterprises and 32 investment projects approved in principle, with a total registered capital of over VND 13,000 billion. These figures show that the confidence of investors and businesses in An Giang's investment environment continues to be strengthened.

- Dear Provincial Party Secretary, to achieve the target of a breakthrough GRDP growth of over 10.71% by 2026 and affirm the province's position in the new era, what specific breakthrough solutions will the An Giang Provincial Party Committee focus on to unlock investment resources and maximize the overall advantages from the new development space after the merger?

- By 2026, An Giang province sets a target of GRDP growth of over 10.71%, GRDP per capita of over 90.53 million VND; total state budget revenue of over 32,360 billion VND; total social investment capital of about 113,500 billion VND; the proportion of added value of the digital economy in GRDP is 8%.

To achieve this goal, An Giang province will continue to mobilize all resources for investment, including public investment leading investment through key projects, high connectivity and spread, creating favorable conditions for attracting investment in development projects in key areas, prioritizing investment in the province such as: infrastructure of border gate economic zone, industrial park, industrial cluster, value-added food processing factory projects associated with concentrated raw material areas.

An Giang places Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on "developing science and technology, innovation and digital transformation" in a key position and concretizes it with practical programs and projects, considering this a new growth driver. At the same time, it will mobilize and effectively use all resources, especially from the private economy and international cooperation, to promote rapid and sustainable development on the basis of strong economic restructuring associated with establishing a new growth model with a development space of both "land - forest - sea"; "border - inland" to develop the marine economy, border gate economy, agricultural economy and multi-industry logistics services. In particular, tourism will develop strongly after a series of infrastructure projects prepare for the 2027 APEC Summit are deployed.

The province is determined to develop rapidly in association with sustainability, focusing on adjusting and implementing the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 to strongly shift to a growth model based on science - technology, innovation and digital transformation. At the same time, restructure the economy, select priority sectors, focus on development, ensure double-digit annual growth target by 2030.

The province has also implemented Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW of the Politburo on private economic development, concretized by action programs, implementation plans for each task and specific solutions associated with the responsibility of the head.
