8 key traffic projects in Hanoi will start construction in 2025
Hanoi - In 2025, the city will start construction of 6 bridges including Hong Ha, Me So, Thuong Cat, Ngoc Hoi, Tran Hung Dao, Van Phuc and 2 urban railway lines.
The Hanoi People's Committee plans to start the project to build urban railway line No. 2, Nam Thang Long - Tran Hung Dao section and urban railway line No. 5, Van Cao - Ngoc Khanh - Lang - Hoa Lac in October 2025.
Urban railway line No. 2 (Nam Thang Long - Tran Hung Dao) is 11.5km long, including 8.9km underground and 2.6km above ground, with a total of 7 underground stations and 3 above ground stations. The project has a total investment of more than 35,000 billion VND.
Urban railway line No. 5 (Van Cao - Ngoc Khanh - Lang - Hoa Lac) passes through Ba Dinh, Dong Da, Cau Giay, Nam Tu Liem districts and Hoai Duc, Quoc Oai, Thach That districts. The project has a total investment of 65,404 billion VND, using Hanoi City budget capital.
Also in 2025, Hanoi plans to start construction of 6 large bridges such as: Hong Ha Bridge, Me So Bridge (Ring Road 4); Thuong Cat Bridge, Ngoc Hoi Bridge (Ring Road 3.5); Tran Hung Dao Bridge and Van Phuc Bridge.
Hong Ha bridge intersects with Hong Ha road, the section passing through Gia Le pagoda, located between Lien Hong Secondary School and Bong Lai village, in Lien Hong commune (Dan Phuong district) connecting with Van Khe commune (Me Linh district). When completed, the project will help shorten connection time, enhance trade between the West of Hanoi and neighboring provinces.
Me So Bridge is about 600m downstream from Hong Van pumping station, Thuong Tin district (Hanoi). In Van Giang district (Hung Yen), the approach road to the bridge runs through Me So and Thang Loi communes and next to the 500kV power line. After being formed, Me So bridge will open a new direction for vehicles from the center of Hanoi to Van Giang district and vice versa instead of going towards Thanh Tri bridge as before. Me So Bridge also creates a connection between Phap Van - Cau Gie and Hanoi - Hai Phong expressways, contributing to reducing the number of vehicles entering Hanoi's inner city.
Thuong Cat bridge project (component 2, excluding site clearance) has the total length of the bridge and the two ends of the bridge is 5,226km, of which the main bridge length is 780m; Bridge leading north of Liem and Dong Anh is 3,125km long; The two ends of the bridge is 1,321km long; The total estimated investment is more than VND 7,300 billion.
The project of building Ngoc Hoi bridge and the two ends of the bridge has a total length of about 7.5 km. Project starting point in Thanh Tri district, Hanoi; The end point in Van Giang district, Hung Yen province. The total project investment is 11,844 billion dong.
Tran Hung Dao Bridge has a total length of about 5.6km. The starting point is at the Tran Hung Dao - Tran Thanh Tong intersection in Hoan Kiem district. The end point connects with Vu Duc Than street, Long Bien district.
Van Phuc bridge across the Red River and the route connected to Highway 32 is 7.7 km long. The first point at the intersection of Highway 32, in Phung Thuong commune, Phuc Tho district; The end point is at the boundary of Hanoi and Vinh Phuc province. The total investment of the project is 3,444 billion dong.
