Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee dialogues with workers
Hanoi This afternoon, May 28, a meeting and dialogue conference will be held between Central Party Committee member - Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh - and workers.
It is expected that about 200 workers will be present at the dialogue between Mr. Tran Sy Thanh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee in 2025, to discuss and make recommendations on issues of concern.
Currently, Hanoi has over 270,000 enterprises, with about 2.7 million workers. The Hanoi City Labor Federation is directly managing and directing the activities of 45 trade unions at the grassroots level and 25 affiliated grassroots trade unions; with a total of 9,898 grassroots trade unions and 799,105 union members.
To prepare for the successful organization of the Conference on meetings and dialogues between the Chairman of the City People's Committee and workers in the Capital in 2025, in the past 2 months, the City Labor Federation has issued votes to collect opinions and recommendations from workers through grassroots unions.
As a result, the Conference Organizing Committee received over 500 opinions and recommendations from workers' delegates and grassroots trade unions. Through the synthesis of opinions and recommendations from workers' delegates with proposed opinions to the City and relevant Departments and branches, focusing on a number of groups of issues.
Those groups of issues include: Social housing, housing for workers, schools for workers' children; health care, health care, social insurance, food safety; training, fostering, improving skills; social order, security, and safety; supporting businesses.
It is known that the number of people participating in compulsory social insurance is currently 2,178,405 people, an increase of 107,753 people compared to the same period in 2024, accounting for 46.4% of the working age force.
However, the situation of outstanding debts and evasion of social insurance is still high, many businesses deliberately stuck, debt and hide, affecting the benefits of workers. By the end of March 3, 2025, the total late payment must be calculated by 1,944.3 billion dong, equivalent to the late payment rate, which must be calculated by interest of 2.30%, decreasing compared to the same period.
The conference is one of the activities held on the occasion of Workers' Month and Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2025.
