46 communes and wards in Ninh Binh ranked as class I after merger

Ninh Binh - Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee has just issued a decision on classifying commune-level administrative units in the province.

According to the decision, Ninh Binh province has 129 commune-level administrative units, including 32 wards and 97 communes. Of which, 46 commune-level administrative units are classified as type I (including 29 wards and 17 communes), and 83 commune-level administrative units are classified as type II (including 3 wards and 80 communes).

In the group of type I administrative units, there are some wards such as Phu Ly, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Hoa Lu, Tam Diep, Dong Hoa Lu, Tay Hoa Lu... and communes such as Co Le, Hai Hau, Giao Thuy, Xuan Truong, Nho Quan, Cuc Phuong, Binh An... with outstanding population size, area and development conditions.

The classification reflects the actual conditions of population size, natural area, socio-economic development level and criteria according to current regulations.

The decision on classifying commune-level administrative units in the province takes effect from June 5, 2026. Chairmen of People's Committees of wards and communes; departments, branches, and related units are responsible for organizing the implementation, ensuring smooth and effective state management and service to the people after completing the arrangement of administrative units.
