The Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union organization will closely follow the direction of General Secretary and President To Lam to make trade union activities closer to reality and closer to workers.

After listening to the directing speech of General Secretary and President To Lam at the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, term 2026 - 2031, Mr. Vo Khac Thai - Standing Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - said that the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union organization will closely follow the direction of General Secretary and President To Lam to soon bring trade union activities closer to reality and closer to workers.

Mr. Vo Khac Thai said that the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation is managing 23,070 grassroots trade unions (CĐCS) with nearly 2.4 million union members, accounting for about 1/4 of the number of CĐCS and union members nationwide. This very large scale is both an advantage and a significant pressure in management, care, representation and protection of workers.

Current practice shows that the situation of workers and laborers still has many issues that need to be addressed, labor relations in some places still have potential risks of disputes arising, the lives of a part of workers are still difficult, and the needs for housing, jobs, social security, and cultural institutions serving workers are increasing.

Mr. Vo Khac Thai emphasized that in the coming time, the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union organization will closely follow the directions and suggestions of General Secretary and President To Lam on orientations for trade union activities; Resolution of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress, Resolution of the XIV Vietnam Trade Union Congress, to deploy into trade union activities with the motto that trade unions must be close to workers, listen to workers, and act for workers to have prestige and a substantive role.

The Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union organization will coordinate with city authorities at all levels, businesses, and training institutions to improve professional qualifications, digital skills, and adaptive skills for workers so that each worker will have the opportunity to study for life.

Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union will continue to improve the effectiveness of representation, dialogue and collective bargaining to better protect the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers, improve collective resolution capacity, dialogue at the workplace, prevent disputes from early on, from the grassroots level so that workers' reflections must be listened to before becoming grievances, so that each small conflict must be resolved before accumulating into hot spots as directed by General Secretary and President To Lam.
