Strengthening vocational training and skills for workers
As one of the delegates attending the 14th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Mr. Hoang Phuc Long - Chairman of the Vietnam - Russia Joint Venture Trade Union Vietsovpetro (VSP) - said that in the past term, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and Trade Union levels have had many positive innovations.
In which, activities have strongly focused on grassroots levels, directly to the practical needs of union members and workers.
In the context that the Party and State have many new policies on the model and organizational structure of the government and mass organizations, the Trade Union organization is also facing the requirement to innovate more strongly and decisively to meet the expectations of union members and workers in the coming time.
In his capacity as a delegate, Mr. Hoang Phuc Long hoped that the Vietnam Trade Union would continue to focus on the contents that workers are most concerned about today, such as salaries, social housing, social security institutions, safe working environment, and physical and mental health care for workers...
In which, it is necessary to have more mechanisms and policies to make it easier for workers with average incomes to access social housing; strengthen support for vocational training and new skills training in the context of digital transformation and energy transition; especially in the context that the strong development of artificial intelligence will have a very large impact on union members and workers.
At the same time, trade union activities also need to be innovated in a flexible and modern direction, applying digital technology, improving the quality of grassroots trade union officials and increasing interaction with union members and workers.
The most important thing is that all trade union activities must truly originate from the actual needs of workers, so that workers see the Trade Union organization as always a reliable support, accompanying them in work and life" - Mr. Long emphasized.
