Congratulatory message from international friends to the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, term 2026-2031

The messages came from many partners with friendly and traditional cooperative relations with the Vietnam Trade Union in the region and around the world. The organizations highly appreciated the role of the Vietnam Trade Union in representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers; and expressed their desire to continue to consolidate cooperative relations, strengthen international solidarity for peace, social justice, progress and the rights of workers.

The Lao Federation of Trade Unions (LFTU) sent warm congratulations to the Board of Directors of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and delegates attending the congress, affirming the close comradeship and brotherhood between the working class and laborers of the two countries Laos - Vietnam.

In the congratulatory message, LFTU emphasized that the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union is a major political event, of great significance in the strategic orientation of the Vietnam Trade Union organization in the new term, "promoting comprehensively and synchronously the renovation process, strengthening the great unity of union members and workers in Vietnam, strongly promoting socio-economic development, and improving the material and spiritual life of workers".

LFTU wished the congress a great success, and expressed its wish that the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic linkage between the two Parties, the two States, and the people of the two countries in general, and between the two Lao - Vietnam Trade Union organizations in particular, will be "forever green and eternally sustainable".

The China General Confederation of Labour (ACFTU) highly appreciated the Vietnam Trade Union for achieving "significant progress in areas such as building policies and laws related to workers' rights; building grassroots trade union organizations; collective bargaining; legal support and dispute resolution; promoting the movement of initiative and creativity; protecting women's labor rights and caring for and paying attention to workers... Thereby effectively protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers, making important contributions to the cause of building socialism in Vietnam".

At the same time, he affirmed that the friendship between trade unions and workers of the two countries has a long history, becoming increasingly strong over time, and wished that trade unions of the two countries would continue to strengthen cooperation, thereby contributing to deepening the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the new era and promoting the building of a China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future of strategic significance at a higher level.

The Russian Federation of Independent Trade Unions (FNPR) affirmed that the strong friendly relationship between trade unions of the two countries has been tested over time and is becoming increasingly important in the context of the world having many major changes in politics, economy and society.

FNPR emphasized: "People of our two countries share the glorious legacy of the struggle against imperialism and peaceful cooperation. We always cherish this memory in our hearts. The strong friendship between our two countries, has been tested over time, has overcome the challenges of decades.

FNPR believes that the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union will have effective discussion sessions, making important decisions for the benefit of Vietnamese workers and their families; and at the same time reaffirming its commitment to continue to develop and strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the two sides in the coming years.

The All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) sent to the Congress the greetings of fighting solidarity of more than 14 million union members. AITUC emphasized that the working class and the Indian trade union movement have a deep comradeship relationship with Vietnamese workers and people, nurtured through historical struggles against colonialism, aggression, exploitation and oppression.

The AITUC message stated: "The resilient struggle and great sacrifices of the Vietnamese people in defeating imperialist forces will forever be a source of long-term inspiration for the working class and progressive movements around the world".

AITUC highly appreciated the important achievements of the Vietnam Trade Union in protecting workers' rights, consolidating grassroots trade union organizations, promoting gender equality and contributing to the socialist-oriented development of Vietnam; and expressed confidence that the XIV Congress will continue to strengthen the solidarity of Vietnamese workers and deepen the international solidarity between workers and trade unions of countries around the world.

The Japan General Confederation of Labour (JTUC-RENGO) sent its warmest congratulations on the occasion of the 14th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour. In the context that trade union organizations around the world are facing increasingly complex challenges, from threats to peace and democracy to violations of human rights and labor rights, JTUC-RENGO emphasized that "more than ever, global solidarity and strong partnerships are of utmost importance".

JTUC-RENGO affirmed that the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress is "a vivid proof of the resilience of the trade union movement, and also a valuable opportunity to continue to consolidate solidarity, strengthen unity and open up a brighter future for trade union members, as well as for workers throughout the beautiful country of Vietnam".

On the side of international organizations, they also sent warm congratulations to the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress.

The Office of the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Vietnam affirmed, "we feel very encouraged by the remarkable achievements and progress that the Vietnam Trade Union has achieved in the past time, especially in representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers and trade union organizations in Vietnam, while actively contributing to promoting social justice and adequate employment for everyone".

The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Institute and the German Metal Industry Union (IG Metall) sent a strong message of solidarity to all delegates of the XIV Vietnam Trade Union Congress. FES and IG Metall expressed their desire to further strengthen partnerships and sustainable cooperation between the parties in the coming term, "together striving for a strong worker movement in Vietnam". The two organizations wished the XIV Vietnam Trade Union Congress success and completion of the entire agenda set out.

As the overseas aid agency of the Australian Trade Union Council (ACTU), the Australian People's Foundation for Overseas Health, Education and Development (APHEDA) sent to the Congress warm greetings from Australian workers, recalling the long-standing tradition of solidarity of Australian Trade Union organizations with Vietnam since before 1975 and the lasting cooperation process over decades.

APHEDA emphasized that it has learned a lot from the cooperation process with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and appreciates the partnership and friendship between the two sides.

In its message to the Congress, APHEDA affirmed: "We are inspired by the strength and courage of the Vietnamese trade union movement in promoting the rights of workers. We are committed to standing side by side with you in the struggle for a fair, equal, sustainable and peaceful world for workers." APHEDA wishes the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union success, "where the voice of the Vietnamese working class - both female and male - is strongly spread from the grassroots level to the global forum".

Letters, e-mails, and congratulatory messages from Trade Union organizations and international partners not only show friendship, solidarity and trust in the Vietnam Trade Union, but also affirm the increasingly important position of the Vietnam Trade Union in the regional and international trade union movement. This is also an important source of encouragement for the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress to continue to propose directions, tasks and practical solutions, building a strong and modern Vietnam Trade Union organization, accompanying union members and workers in the new development stage of the country.
