To truly make voluntary blood donation a regular, voluntary job
An Giang - The voluntary blood donation movement of the province has recently continued to be actively responded to by all classes of people.
On January 15, the Provincial Red Cross Society, the Standing Agency of the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation Mobilization in coordination with the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation (LDLD) organized the Launching Ceremony of the Voluntary Blood Donation Campaign for Tet and the "Red Spring Festival" in 2026.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation Mobilization of An Giang province - said: The campaign to mobilize voluntary blood donation during Tet and the "Red Spring Festival" in 2026 was implemented with the message "Donate blood in the beginning of spring - Increase happiness", taking place from January 15, 2026 to March 15, 2026, striving to mobilize over 9,800 people to register to donate blood and receive 9,300 units or more of blood. Thereby, it is aimed at ensuring a safe and stable blood supply to serve emergency care and treatment for people before, during and after the Lunar New Year, preventing local anemia.
After many years of implementation, the "Red Spring Festival" has become an annual activity of profound humanitarian significance, an important highlight of the voluntary blood donation movement in the province. In 2025 alone, the provincial-level "Xuan Hong Festival" attracted over 500 volunteers to participate, receiving 420 units of blood. After the launching ceremony, many agencies, units and localities have proactively organized blood donation campaigns, making an important contribution to the work of emergency care and treatment for patients. However, the demand for blood use in the province is still very large, especially during Tet and peak summer, the risk of local anemia still occurs.
The Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee proposed to promote propaganda and mobilization of voluntary blood donation in many practical and effective forms; making the voluntary blood donation movement a regular and self-conscious activity for each cadre, union member, association member and citizen.
I call on union members, youth, volunteers and people in the whole province to actively respond to the message Donate blood at the beginning of spring - multiply happiness, not only at todays Festival but at all times of the year, because each drop of blood given is an opportunity to live for the sick, Ms. Thuy emphasized.

Mr. Do Tran Thinh - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor - said that in recent years, the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor at all levels has always been a pioneer, considering voluntary blood donation not only a responsibility, but also an order from the hearts of each union member and worker.
"2026 is the year we continue to promote patriotic emulation movements, building a strong Trade Union organization. There is no greater action than sharing life. Each drop of blood you give today will be a hope to light up a family, a bridge to prolong the lives of poor patients, Mr. Thinh emphasized.
On behalf of the Standing Committee of the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor, Mr. Do Tran Thinh officially launched a response and called on all cadres, union members, and employees across the province to promote the spirit of mutual love and support, actively registering to donate blood at the 2026 Red Spring Festival.
Each union member is a propagandist, spreading the noble meaning of the message "Donate blood to save people - Your life and mine". Make the voluntary blood donation movement a regular and practical activity at grassroots trade unions, contributing to the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation and the health sector in ensuring blood reserves for emergency care and treatment.

After the launching ceremony, the organizing committee received voluntary blood donations.
