Training on health care and occupational disease prevention for workers
On the morning of April 22, in Hai Phong, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor opened a training course on health care knowledge and occupational disease prevention for workers.
The representative of the Legal Policy and Labor Relations Department of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor said that recently, summarizing the 10-year evaluation of the implementation of Directive No. 29-CT/TW of September 18, 2013 of the Party Central Committee Secretariat on promoting labor safety and hygiene in the period of industrialization, modernization and international integration, showing that labor safety and hygiene to achieve certain health and health protection and health protection and health protection. labor.
However, in reality, there are still many organizations and individuals where employers do not fully comply with the provisions of the law on occupational safety and hygiene, health care for employees and prevention of occupational diseases. Especially the issue of reproductive health and nutrition for workers in industrial parks and export processing zones.
The training program aims to provide necessary knowledge and skills for trade union officials in caring for and improving the health of workers, encouraging a healthy lifestyle and nutrition at the workplace, preventing and controlling occupational diseases for workers.
From April 22 to 24, more than 50 delegates were trained on 5 topics: Guidelines for reproductive health care and safe sex; nutrition and physical exercise guidelines, proactive health care at the workplace; mental health care for workers at the workplace; improving working conditions, health care, preventing occupational diseases for workers; classifying working conditions and classifying heavy, toxic, and dangerous jobs.
The training program is part of a series of activities to guide Workers' Month - Month of action on occupational safety and hygiene in 2025 of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. This is also an activity to concretize the Program for occupational care, health improvement and disease prevention for the 2020-2030 period according to Decision No. 659/QD-TTg dated May 20, 2020 of the Government.
