Thai Binh - The Labor Federations of Hung Yen and Thai Binh provinces discussed, agreed, and proposed the merger tasks of the trade union organization when merging the two provinces.

On April 25, the Labor Federations of Hung Yen and Thai Binh provinces held a conference to discuss, agree and propose the merger tasks of the trade union organization when merging the two provinces.

At the conference, delegates listened to the leaders of the Hung Yen and Thai Binh Provincial Federation of Labor generalise the situation of the apparatus.

According to the Project on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units (ADUs) of Hung Yen province, which was highly agreed upon by the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee at the 37th conference, the province reduced the number of existing commune-level ADUs by 71.9%. Hung Yen province currently has 139 commune-level administrative units including: 13 wards, 8 towns and 118 communes. After the arrangement, this province has 39 commune-level administrative units, including: 6 wards, 33 communes, reducing 100 commune-level administrative units.

For Thai Binh province, according to the draft project, after the arrangement, the whole province will now reduce from 242 to 65 commune-level administrative units (including 60 communes and 5 wards), a reduction of 177 units, equivalent to about 73%.

Also at the Conference, the leaders of the Labor Federation of Hung Yen and Thai Binh provinces discussed the organizational structure as well as the current trade union operating models. On that basis, the delegates focused on discussing and assessing the situation of organizational structure, personnel and union activities of each province. At the same time, propose plans to arrange and consolidate the organization, ensure the rights of union members, workers and trade union officials after consolidating.

The merger of trade unions in Hung Yen - Thai Binh provinces will be implemented synchronously, scientifically, and in accordance with regulations, contributing to improving efficiency in the operation process; demonstrating the determination to innovate and improve the quality of trade union activities in the new period.
