Spreading love from union houses in Gia Lai

THANH TUẤN (báo lao động) 16/04/2025 17:31 (GMT+7)

Thanks to the cooperation of union members and benefactors, many solid houses have been built, helping people in difficulty in Gia Lai stabilize their lives.

settling down and making a living in a new house

In Ma Hrai village, Ia Hiao commune, Phu Thien district, Ms. Nay H'Phuong and her three young children used to live in a makeshift, dilapidated house. Her husband had to work for hire in Dong Nai, and she alone raised her children in conditions of full deprivation. Every time summer comes, the hot corrugated iron roof is blown away, making family life even more stuffy and difficult.

Understanding that situation, the Gia Lai Provincial Trade Union coordinated with Cho Ray Hospital (HCMC) to directly visit and donate 60 million VND from the " caring person" program to support her family in rebuilding a solid and spacious home.

"My family is deeply grateful for the hearts of the benefactors and the Trade Union organization. Having a solid roof, my children can study with peace of mind, and my husband and I also have more motivation to work and produce, Ms. H'Phuong said emotionally.

Not only stopping at housing support, the Provincial Trade Union also spent 10.5 million VND to give a breeding cow to Mr. Ksor Bung's family ( chroh Ponan commune, Phu Thien district). For those who work for hire and grow crops all year round like Mr. Bung, this is an extremely valuable gift.

The cow is the greatest asset I have ever had. I will take good care of them to develop livestock farming and escape poverty. Thank you to the Trade Union at all levels for not leaving the poor behind, Mr. Bung expressed.

Spreading meaningful deeds

From the beginning of 2025 to now, the Gia Lai Provincial Federation of Labor has mobilized more than 510 million VND to build new and repair 10 houses for union members and households in especially difficult circumstances across the province.

Responding to the national target program "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025", trade unions at all levels have actively called on cadres, civil servants and workers to contribute. Thanks to that cooperation, many households in Mang Yang, Krong Pa, Chu Prong and Phu Thien districts have a solid roof, peace of mind and stable life.

One of the touching stories is the situation of Ms. Ksor H'Bien and her husband, who have worked for more than 30 years at Chu Se District Medical Center. Despite having a stable job, the incident happened when her husband suffered from a serious illness, causing the family's economy to collapse. During the period of mounting difficulties, the Chu Se District Labor Federation mobilized Cho Ray Hospital to support 70 million VND to build a new house for her family.

"I never thought I would have such a spacious house as today. This is a great spiritual gift, giving me more determination to continue to contribute and take care of my family, Ms. H'Bien choked up as she shared.

Not only stopping at housing support, in the coming time, the Gia Lai Provincial Federation of Labor will continue to promote the emulation movement "Good workers, creative workers", while focusing on comprehensively caring for the rights and improving the material and spiritual life of workers.

The practical and humane actions of the Trade Union organization not only contribute to improving the lives of disadvantaged people, but also spread the message of love and community solidarity in the journey of "no one is left behind".
