Hai Duong deploys many measures to prevent work-related accidents
Hai Duong province is promoting solutions to prevent occupational accidents, including inspection of enterprises, safety training and raising awareness of workers.
Hai Duong province currently has hundreds of enterprises operating in industrial parks and clusters, attracting tens of thousands of workers in many production fields from construction, metal smelting, mechanics to textiles, food processing. The diversity of occupations, including many areas with high potential risks, poses an urgent need to strengthen measures to ensure occupational safety and hygiene, especially when the number of accidents is still high.
In 2024, the whole province of Hai Duong recorded 142 work accidents, killing 10 people and seriously injuring 39 people.
The total estimated property damage is more than 2.7 billion VND.
At the launching ceremony of Workers' Month - Month of Action on Labor Safety and Hygiene in 2025, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hung - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Labor Safety and Hygiene Council of Hai Duong province frankly acknowledged: "There are still businesses that only care about productivity but have not really paid attention to working conditions, protective equipment or safety training. In some cases, workers are also subjective, taking safety procedures lightly, leading to unfortunate consequences".
Labor accidents largely stem from the lack of attention and investment of both employers and employees in prevention work.
Some businesses have not properly implemented regulations on periodic safety training, have not fully equipped with protective equipment or use outdated machinery, posing great risks.
Faced with this situation, Hai Duong province has taken many drastic actions to improve the situation.
During the 2025 Labor Safety and Hygiene Action Month, authorities organized a series of inspections at enterprises, especially focusing on high-risk industries such as construction, metal smelting, chemicals, mechanical manufacturing, etc.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Hoi - Chairman of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks of Hai Duong province emphasized: "Workers' Month and the Month of Action on Labor Safety and Hygiene are important occasions to promote emulation movements for safe labor production, raising legal awareness. Each grassroots union needs to have at least one specific, practical activity, taking care of the interests of union members".
