Mr. Nguyen Duc Thach - Chairman of the Trade Union of Economic Zones of Ha Tinh province - said that currently, Ha Tinh Economic Zone has more than 500 enterprises with more than 20,000 workers and laborers. From April 18, the unit held a launching ceremony for Workers' Month and Action Month on occupational safety and health. This is also the unit organizing the score of the Ha Tinh Provincial Federation of Labor.

After the Trade Union of Ha Tinh Economic Zones launched the campaign, the affiliated grassroots trade unions have actively responded and implemented a variety of activities to care for the interests of union members and workers, and give gifts to workers in difficult circumstances. In particular, coordinate with employers to inspect, review, and rectify the work of ensuring occupational safety and health and coordinate in organizing occupational safety and health training for employees.

Currently, enterprises in Ha Tinh economic zones have basically strictly complied with regulations on ensuring occupational safety and hygiene. However, many workers have not been really serious, raising awareness, and fully complying with procedures and regulations to ensure labor safety for themselves. In addition, currently, the lines and machinery of some enterprises are also old and outdated, so the working environment is not really guaranteed. Therefore, strengthening inspection and supervision by competent authorities is still very necessary to ensure labor safety, Mr. Thach shared.

According to the Chairman of the Trade Union of Ha Tinh Economic Zones, in the coming time, the unit will coordinate with the Ha Tinh Economic Zones Management Board and relevant departments and branches to conduct inspections at a number of enterprises on ensuring occupational safety and health.

Strengthening inspection and supervision

Mr. Ngo Dinh Van - Vice Chairman of Ha Tinh Labor Federation - said that this year the arrangement and streamlining the apparatus somewhat affecting the thought of trade union officials, especially the district and town labor union. However, with the spirit and high responsibility, the units have been actively and proactively implemented quite well the work of taking care of and protecting the rights of union members and workers on the occasion of workers.

In addition to the funding from the Trade Union organization, many units have mobilized social resources from enterprises, coordinated with the government and enterprises to give hundreds of gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances. Thereby, promptly encouraging workers to overcome difficulties and rise up. To help union members and workers see the role of the Trade Union organization in representing, caring for, and protecting their legitimate and legal rights and interests.

Ensuring occupational safety and hygiene is an important task that has been regularly regulated by law. In recent years, in general, the work of ensuring labor safety in the area has been implemented quite seriously. However, there are still units and enterprises that have not really done this well.

Therefore, the strengthening of inspection, supervision, and acceleration of propaganda and training to ensure labor safety must still be maintained and paid regular attention.
